Unfortunately it will only be remembered by us, after last night I'm quite chilled now we've done our bit to this point let's s see ee if Leicester
can do something and then it's in our hands. City will feel the pressure they know that they win the league by beating Leicester.

History books will only remember the champions whilst those affected by the race will always remember the near misses until the holy grail is reached.

We still have hope and a reasonable chance of winning the title despite the despondency here. Our team didn't give up so why should we?

If we win the title everything will come into line. Our position and lead at the turn of the year, the best defence, the most clean sheets, the fewest defeats. Natural order would have been restored.

Rafa Benitez has discussed the big transfer issue he faced while Liverpool manager - as he prepares to welcome his former club to Newcastle United.
Benitez believes the transfer circumstances he is currently facing aren't dissimilar to those he experienced at Anfield.

The Newcastle boss has only been handed limited funds during his time on Tyneside, and he has now revealed that his budget on Merseyside went as low as £17million.

He believes that gave his side limited depth - naturally an issue in a push for the title - and meant they were left relying on their togetherness, as his Newcastle side are now.

"We were fighting, and believe me we had £20m and the last year was £17m," revealed Benitez.

i get what he is saying, but he should keep this to himself, as ashley ( who no one likes not even Newcastle fans lol) will just turn round and say, "well you only had £20 mill to spend at liverpool and had them playing cl football i want to see same here".

mind you its not just fees for players, wages are a big factor. i don't know if newkie have a big budget for that or not,

Seriously though lads. 94 points and still no title <yikes>. The world’s gone mad.

Our lead over Everton is more points than a combined Fulham and Huddersfield managed in an entire season. More than 6 teams managed.

24 points clear of third place Spurs.

Pep is right. Both teams deserve to win it this season. Unfortunately no body will remember who came 2nd.
We will.
If we come second I'll still remember what a great season we've had - and that's all that matters to me. I don't care what media, rivals or any one else thinks.

Manchester united won the Premiership titles many times many times with under ninety points. If we were this good
when Leicester won it, Leicester have no chance of winning it.

Context dribs lol.

As much as leicester deserved credit for wining title they didnt have european football to worry about as well. And all of us that season well underperformed

We can't take this away from Leicester. They were deserved champions that season. That the top clubs dropped points consistently then is not their problem.

Same with us on 97 points (hopefully) . We could have been champions in a normal season but remember last season we will still have been runners up. All the previous champions with lower points total have deserved it at the time.

I guess you’re right. But I can’t lie; after such an amazing season we should be lifting the trophy - but someone else will probably be doing that and it will stick in my throat a little. It could only happen to us!

it happens every year to teams up and down the country and continent.

teams fighting for 17th in the league, teams just striving to collect enough cash to open door next year, teams trying to reach the next level.. teams trying to reach 6th....

if you have absolute clarity you could do no more and have your all then what can you do.

We've done the best we could. In fact I would say we've done much more than we realistically could have expected with our team and squad. Lots of things have gone our way. I0 points+. That's why I want us to win it this season. I will be proud of our team and performance sure but massively disappointed if we are not champions. We just have to do it this season. I am praying for Leicester and Brighton.

You obviously can’t remember Keegan’s Entertainers.

If a team ever deserved to win the PL but didn’t it was them.

I may be over "positive " but certainly not deluded. How can I have imagined that no one would have taken a single point from City for 4 months? I know that City win their last matches there is nothing we can do. Whether we like it or not we need Leicester to do us a favour. IF these teams are already on the beach then we are stuffed <doh> :(

well Newcastle wasn't on the beach already and had nothing really to play for.

Not often I can say this but I [HASHTAG]#calledit[/HASHTAG] that they would not drop points - must be a negative football genius :)

No but all media sites were saying they would throw the game
In my world our only hope now is that city totally switch off Against Brighton but it is not going to happen.
No way do Leicester do anything tomorrow
Full stop
End of
City will be on fire after how they picked up points against Burnley
