They can be just as pedestrian as we can - it just depends on who decides they're interested enough. They have even less to play for than we - title is out of reach but top 4 is as near a certainty as it can be.

our game is after city play palace.

one complicating factor that might play a part is that should utd lose to us then city win the title.

(City would be 13 points clear with 4 to play)

I'm not sure how much that enters the conversation but it all just add up doesn't it. Utd won't want sky talking about how city won the title after utd lost.

I think this is more how fans think rather than players.

It probably is. There is some element of players knowing what fans are thinking and that but also the rivalry and all of that to add in.

I would agree that OGs wouldn't mention the fact city won at all in his build up to the game but who knows.

City need 2 more wins to take the title, their game is also in between the CL semi final so maybe they play a b team v palace and lose and this is moot anyway. who knows.

you know what, i think this is the least hammed up game between us two in a very long time.

I thin kthe first game was massively sky hyped. Now i might have missed it as i have not been watching sky much given CL was on BT but it does seem like its not overhyped

Usually depends how much if a **** you give about the game; if you don't care, the hype goes under the radar

The games between us have been poor lately. No fans in attendance and nothing for either to play for other than bragging rights.

Wasn't the first league game hyped to absolutely stratospheric levels. thats was only january. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-manchester-united-sky-sports-23341043

apparently it was the most watched **** match of all time in the prem.

I know its only Wednesday but Neville is commenting on Guardiola's legacy in the CL which they don't even show today.

IMO hype would be undeserved but SKY don't show europa nor CL so I think its funny that put so much in last time compared to this.

Dunno if it's been mentioned yet, but the Dream Team of Oliver, of the missed Prickford sending-off, and Man U fan Paul Tierney, who gave Everton a pen when DCL ran into the back of a prone Trent, on VAR.

    What could go wrong? :emoticon-0138-think

If we had a super league such closely aligned refs and var could be got rid of.

How do you run into the back of someone who's "prone"?

Are you trying to suggest Trent is two-dimensional?

He's very multi-dimensional. Unfortunately, none of those seem to be defensive ones.

In all honesty the player i would most compare him to (and this is a massive compliment from a United supporter) is Beckham.
He can cross a ball with pin point accuracy from anywhere on the right hand side of the pitch (high for a header or low for a runner), spray the ball all around the pitch as in wing to wing and takes the occasional great free kick.
Beckham has him beat though because he could also play in the centre and defend when needed.
