No, it's not. If a defender goes off the floor with a straight leg and studs first to make a tackle and catches the opposition because he is a fraction slower to the ball is it "just one of those"?
Defenders are expected to try and make tackles and are slated if they don't but still have to take other peoples safety into account, why should strikers be any different.

Do you think Cahill's tackle against Burnley the other week was intentional? Absolutely not, in my book. Was it a straight legged, uncontrolled lunge that could have caused damage? It was. What is your point?

You would have to ask the ref on that particular day, we all know things get missed/let go, it shouldn't be used as an excuse for other things though.

They do. Strangely, when your lot are the perps, mostly.

This is bad, even for you. You're being a complete prick here and it isn't funny.

<laugh>

What excuse?, I'm pointing out the difference between deliberate and accidental, Mane doesn't need an excuse for going for a ball he was entitled to go for, his foot was high, the ref saw it as dangerous play and he got his marching orders, that's it in a nutshell but you seem agitated there's nothing more to add or say Diego?

And I have never mentioned deliberate, I am pointing out the difference between controlled and reckless.
Do you think defenders jumping in to get a ball stud people who get there first do it deliberately or are they just reckless and uncontrolled?

Ah **** off Diego.<laugh>

You're now arguing what we have for that last couple of hours, reckless and uncontrolled and not deliberate, and got the red for those reasons and not for intentionally doing it.

Right, now that's settled we can all move on.<ok>

Can't we Diego.<grr>

Yep, but I am not going to mention the later ones <laugh>

TBF I never even brought Astro's posts into it because it wouldn't be right
Lol...its one of those things.. You react with team bias...look at it ...accept it...then depending on who's commenting at the time keep it up or own up lol...

Wasn't you though D...you girly fecker all worried that you'd scud yerself if you slabbered before your match lol...

I do agree, but as was just said by three ex strikers on MOTD, had he not gone for that ball he would have been shot.

Well, maybe gone for it, but just perhaps he should have gone for the ball with his head, as it was head height?

So you think it was intentional then?

Intent isn't important in this case. Intent is only important for violent conduct, eg kicking or attempting to kick an opponent. Serious foul play is about endangering the safety of an opponent by being reckless and/or careless, using force capable of inflicting serious injury. A broken face Is serious.

I actually love Liverpool fan's defence of your player though, even though I think you have no grounds for complaint.
