I just found my new best friend If any striker feels contact in the box they are going down, so no surprise it wasn't overturned, Albrighton gave him the reason to go down and he took it, just a shame he made such a dogs dinner of it to try and get the pen, VAR can't overturn a decision for bad acting. Hamza is ... well ... a live wire to say the least, he rarely misjudges a slide tackle, yes he was late and it warranted a yellow its just unfortunate hes fell on Salahs ankle, if thats a red, you may as well just ban sliding tackles altogether.
He dived in from behind with no chance of getting the ball, it wasn't "misjudged" FYI here's what a proper slide tackle looks like:
Yes that is a well timed slide tackle, ive already stated that Hamza was late, Mane still could have broke Chilwells ankle with the follow though, regardless of how much of the ball he got.
Clear and definite penalty. And I’m glad that mane went to ground like he’d been shot because we wouldn’t have gotten the penalty otherwise. As RHC mentioned above, there are times when he’s fouled and he doesn’t appeal at all. we ultimately got what we deserved - 3 points.
According to Danny Murphy it was just "tired legs". Having been subbed on in the 86th minute like. Hamza being a prick aside, Leicester getting top 4/6 would nicely stir up the league.
I understand your point, but the more he does it, the more it gets scrutinised, and the harder it gets to win such things, as players gain a rep for it. We may have benefited from it this time, but we might suffer in the future. Of course it would all be better if refs gave fouls where appropriate without the need for the dying swan act, but it can be difficult for them to tell. I think our opinions are largely down to whether we benefit or suffer from it. I agree we deserved to win overall. 18 shots to 2 tells its own story.
I really don't think there is enough contact to warrant a penalty (not complaining though) but, as you rightly point out, Albrighton gives the ref a decision to make.
The thing that surprised me most about Leicester were the intimidatory tactics like the one by Vardy on Adrian and Schmeichel on Milner at the penalty. That's not what I remember from a Rodgers team. I hate seeing it, it's unsportsmanlike and tantamount to cheating. Argy bargy 50/50's are fair enough imo but there was too much intimidation or trying to be intimidating for my liking. Had to laugh at Danny Murphy saying 'if Salah's hurt himself......' hurt himself
Are you not considering 6th spot as a possibility? Early days but you seem to have a more together squad than other contenders. MU and Spurs all over the place, I'd be looking at 5th or 6th mate
Why not? Spurs and Utd look a shambles, Arsenal are up and down. Top 4 hopefully in this order Liverpool City Chelsea Arsenal/Leicester
