as per the bit in bold there are 2 obvious differences 1. He scores goals 2. He is actually available for selection yes he clearly doesn't fit in with our style of the last few years (when playing well) however i'm horrified about the fact most of our team seem incapable of recognising that they will also need to adjust to make the team better
Yep he's definitely not as bad as Carroll. The team doesn't need to adapt to Benteke. Benteke needs to adapt to the team.
Just ignore the bitterness and insults. You are right, this "style" crap evolved somewhere as a fantasy. I remember laughing at spurs fans in the 80's and 905 who droned on and on about style too. 10 years ago nobody gave a toss about style when we were euro champs. Style is a bull **** claim. It was bullshit out of rodgers and herr klopp has only talked about effort rates and passion. You can give the same hoofing it as tikky tacky style..... in short Mr benteke is not a fool, an idiot, a donkey, and whatever other endless insults Jimmy heaps on him as his target. He's just a player for us. He's an honest player who will work hard but isn't all that in every aspect and is by far not the worst player we have. Honestly the thought that danny ings who got injured is some worldie we miss or origi is a great fella after one showing v Southampton or all we need is sturridge is facile you are right we've lots of guys who need to all adapt to each other
Not talking about giving it to him though.... talking about him taking down long balls or trying tricks when a safe pass is on.... totally different.
If a player is bought to join a team that is already setup to play in a certain way then the player is the one expected to adjust although you'd expect the player style to suit the team style anyway. However, in this instance there is a new manager meaning every player in the squad must adapt to new ways. Including both Benteke and his teammates finding a way to get the best out of the other.
Fair point 1, though..... rodgers we must wonder if he bought the guy at all or of course if klopp ok'd it Point 2 is entirely fair. It's all about what klopp will do.
Ian Midgely a Leicester City fan who had travelled up to watch his team face Liverpool at anfield tragically suffered a heart attack at the turnstiles and unfortunately passed away. No football fan should goto a game of football and not return home.
Interesting point regarding Benteke and Leicester. Leicester didn't shut up shop they attacked us. They have space and played ball. This is exactly the type of game Benteke has thrived in (Firm too usually is good in such a setup). This isn't the type of game we've needed a different striker. Yes he does well and is a good option for such games. We're still short a striker who can create chances and work in less space as per the other 75% of games. A new Sturridge.
We need players to run beyond in the absence of a forward doing this. Firmino, lallana in particular. There's no law that they cannot
Is it easier to get 2-3 players to change their natural style to suit Benteke or vice versa? You say Firmino and Lallana need to run beyond the striker - something they don't do or haven't done in their careers, as opposed to Benteke running more in front of them.
Haven't you claimed Benteke doesn't run? Wouldn't that therefore be something he's not done in his career (in your opinion of course)
Yes. That's the point. Is it easier to get 2-3 players to change their natural style than get 1 player to change?
Ehhhhh no. You miss the point in you attempt to bash one guy... again. Irrespective of who is up there players should be making those runs, especially if playing one up. Really simple
