He isn't one dimensional, if given the chance he can actually play as well as do all the physical target man stuff

Feel bad for Origi. Hopefully he won't be out for too long.

Klopp surely has to either recall some loan players or buy some new ones in January.

    Good result!

Lovren seems pretty important to us right now <ale>:emoticon-0167-beer:

I'm not scapegoating him or going on about him. Just stating that I don't believe he is the long term answer. He did well today to score the goal he did but he should've scored the second and the time he took on the ball for that chance is one of the reasons I don't think he is suitable for us.

Right now Lovren is a little less repellent.

Actually, he's working really hard <ok>

You all know by now all I've been doing is point out the slagging off of one guy over another is pointless and counterproductive.

Benteke is what he is, just as Firmino is what he is. None of them on their own can do anything, they all need to work together and build a team frame together.

To take one guy since the day he was signed and **** all over him cos he's not someone else is wrong. Not of course because balotelli got it either...

I've seen let's have origi, let's have Firmino no 9, let's all thank the gods cos sturridge is back.... never hey benteke is a guy who can score goals if the team can exploit him.

So we'very seen the best and worst of Firmino at no 9 and also origi and of sturridge and we have seen some of benteke skills and a lot of his weaknesses cos he is struggling to get to the type of game desired by Klopp but he's still fired some goals for us.

None of them have done great that's why Rodgers is in the bin and why Klopp lost a few games badly too but they can and will do better.

Benteke is a just plain good player. He scores good goals on the ground and in the air. we need his like. Same as we need the like of sturridge if he ever gets fit and the likes of Firmino too.

It's this constant begrudgingly of a target and belittling that I was playing off against and I know most on here have just ignored it and laughed it off but I thought I'd have a bit of fun with it.

Lovern is a great guy and a mad man but he's also a mercenary. I think he's been given a terrible time sometimes for no reason and sometimes he's deserved it.

Watching sahko think he's a footballing God and stagger over the ball and frankly take risk after risk and seeing him lauded while lovern only needs sneeze and he's got dogs abuse.

    He played decent today

  9. Although I don't accept a player a player being in the side without being a team player, I think it is a bit different when it comes to goalscorers. Having someone that can put the ball in the net, especially when the team struggles for goals, can be tolerated. However, having someone in the midfield or defence because they bring one thing to the table is more costly to the team performance.

It's all about confidence...... You've seen this guy go on runs with villa and tear up this league. That's the thing...... a bit of a song and a bit of love wouldn't go astray imo .... I was disgusted he missed that last one. It should have been an easy brace and a boost for him.

Sunderland game will be interesting next.

Who do we play and how. We've seen henderson and can play cm. Will one get rested?

The defense is at this point fixed as we have nobody else even if Klopp wanted the change it.

We still lack pace, width and fast passing so sunderland will hope to sit off and frustrate us.

I'm hoping we see an early goal for us to just open it up.

Strikers should be selfish but it's not like benteke is doing zero when we don't have the ball etc.... I don't see him as a me myself and I kind of player.

  12. We can without doubt improve on Benteke but right now he is our player and gives us both options and goals (1 in 2 is pretty good!). I don't think he effects the teams performance in a negative way, rather than getting in Coutinho's or Firmino's way (Jimmy's claim), he actually occupies the CB's creating more space between the opposition defence and midfield.

Sure, his movement for crosses could be better but so could the crosses. The crosses need to improve drastically!

    Of course we can.

His movement today put him in the perfect spot and he had to do very well as the ball to him was not perfect by far.

If we've 2 guys wanting to play central behind a striker I would say hey someone will get in someone's way in the end won't they.

Imo the guy is a good player who's of a type and a good team needs the options. I'd be very happy if we returned to the time when we had crouch as the option and torres up front. I seem to recall crouch ****ed off fast and we never replaced. Top sides need 3/4 forwards. Benteke is a great option.

  14. Not seen today's game so can't comment.

I'd prefer Ings or Studge up top but they aren't available and Benteke is a better option up top than Firmino. I think Orihi or Benteke depends on the opponents.

How did the lino not flag offside for the last minute chance for Benteke. He was about 40 yards offside <laugh>

And how did the Lino give a goal kick when Leicester played blocked Lucas header?! Or did he give offside then... Might make more sense

Sturridge, Ings and Origi are all better options than Benteke.

I thought it was Lovren's best performance - wasn't perfect and he still made a few mistakes but was good overall.

Coincidence that he performed better without Skrtel? ...
