  1. Benteke was boss. Out run everyone on the pitch despite not staying and didn't put a foot wrong. 10/10 performance!

What did origi do... or Firmino last game....

Or what can sturridge do from his death bed....

You've run out of anyone else bar benteke you've been on about while stick the boot into benteke constantly.

Fact is he's got us the three points like a striker is supposed to.

By that logic, you say what has Firmino done? He's only got the joint top assists for us.

But in his case, you're more concerned with his performance than output. Bit hypocritical.

But if you're happy with Benteke's performance, then fair enough. Some people see beyond that and like to analyse actually football ability and contribution to open play.

we knew what benteke was before we bought him. Scores goals, doesn't do much else. No shock

scores goals, but does need to be a bit more active

Unfortunately that isn't good enough to be a Liverpool striker. We need more than a Darren Bent or Kevin Phillips.

He scored a goal. Played better than normal. Still a **** all around performance.

    Pretty straight forward.

I'm just happy we got 3 points. Badly needed them, and it was a solid team performance.

Who gives a **** what people's opinions are on here?

He bagged the winner for us today and gets **** all credit which bemuses me but ultimately we will see whether Klopp fancies him or not and whatever decision he makes I will back <ok>

Saw the first half and thought we played well. Sad to see Origi go off and equally Benteke come on, but he scored and we won!
    How was the 2nd half?

    Absolutely <applause>

To keep going on and on about him when he has delivered us the winner today just stinks of the old bullshit scapegoating under BR - surely time to move on

Footballs an entertainment business. I want to be entertained, watching someone do **** all and then score a goal isn't ideal. Yes your take it occasionally but as a standard it's not great. Yes I don't pay money to watch us (well only to sky) but if I was paying to go to anfield every week I'd want to watch decent football above all else, at the moment Benteke hasn't offered much to that.

Yup I'd take someone playing badly and score the winner, but when he doesn't score that's when it becomes an issue as he doesn't contribute much else.

Never mind being our only goal getter, he's our only fit striker!

Benteke played pretty poorly but somehow managed to get the winning goal. I don't understand the scapegoating comments (again). Why can't people say a player played poorly when they did?

That said, Can didn't impress through trying to do too much, Sakho was really sketchy and Firmino barely got involved. I thought Lallana played well and, surprisingly, Lovren again who looks to be getting some decent form.

Happy with the win, still a long way for this team to go.

Benteke has easiest chance of the game by sounds of it and his miss to put us 2-0 up nearly cost us after Leicester went up the other end to score! On above day that game ends 1-1 because of it...

ive defended Benteke all season but he needs to up his overall game and improve his chance conversion.

Glad Lovren is hitting bit of form and glad him and Sakho will hopefully get a run of games together. He's obviously a decent player but has suffered since moving to us, maybe playing RCB, a more natural position, and not next to Skrtel, who must be a nightmare to play next to, will get him playing somewhere near his best.

True. I'm just saying that long term he doesn't seem to be the answer.

Thought Lovren was very good today. Sakho was poor on the ball but his overall defending was good. Leicester resorted to long balls but Sakho pretty much won most of the duels.

I thought Can played well from a defensive aspect. Both he and Hendo dominated the midfield which was encouraging.

Benteke only scores against the best team in the league and the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea

Instead we need Klopp to get him banging 3 or 4 in against Swiss nobodies in a cup we then go out of the next round

If he was a 25-30 goal a season striker, then I could live with his one dimensional style.

But he's a 1 in 2 at the very best but a lot of people on here act like he scores a bucket load of goals so we can ignore his limitations.

At the end of the day - he scored the winning goal, but his performance was poor.

Now please can we enjoy 3 points - it's been a while. We dealt with the two best attacksrs in the league today with relative ease, kept a clean sheet and despite frustrating attacking play, we continue to create chances.

And if on another day he does score a hatrick then good, but since he's joined us, the odds on him missing far are far greater than the chance of him scoring and that's the problem.
