LEICESTER INJURY UPDATE FOR SATURDAY Final word from Leicester, where Foxes boss Claude Puel has confirmed they have no new injury concerns for the Sky Live clash with Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime. “There are no fresh injuries. It is just Matty James who will not be available and all the other players are fit. PUEL READY FOR LIVERPOOL CHALLENGE Liverpool may have won all three of their Premier League fixtures this season but Claude Puel is happy with how his side has begun the new campaign (two wins and a defeat to Man Utd). “We know we play a great team with confidence that plays good football. It’s an exciting game for us to play. Liverpool haven’t conceded a goal. “We have a good feeling and we are confident. We want to play with a good intensity and be clinical in both boxes." PUEL PLEASED WITH FLEETWOOD PERFORMANCE Leicester City boss Claude Puel shuffled his pack in the 4-0 Carabao Cup win over Fleetwood in midweek but felt they did not lose their intensity against a potentially tricky opponent. “I was happy about our game against Fleetwood. We made a lot of rotation but we kept going until the end with good quality on the pitch.”
puel set up saints to defend deep and beat us in league cup semi over 2 legs. I have a feeling he will try the same. my view is we must score early here. the new additions since that league cup semi like salah and vvd and Keita and alisson are great players. I hope we can get the early goal.
Without vardy and Mahrez they def less of a threat, vardy has over 40% of their goals against top 6 mainly because teams push up and he hits them over the top. Iheanacho isnt quite same player, more liking the ball to feet so a high line shouldn’t be as bad.
Nevertheless we do not have to be complacent, we must remember that they are playing at home, some players may be out prove a point.
someone has to step up for mahrez position and they have won the last two games but i suppose they did lose to utd so must be ****?
in the LC they had their Mahrez replacement start & he scored a cracker. It was weirdly reminiscent of some Mahrez goals
Who was that?..............I remember Slimani scoring a cracker against us in the LC, but he was no Mahrez replacement
i meant their tie in midweek against Fleetwood. He is Rachid Ghezzal who they signed from Monaco this summer.
my fault as i couldn't be arsed to look up how to spell caribou or whatever the tossers sponsoring the LC is these days. Bring back the Milk Cup i say.
