Selection crisis; Mane cannot play FOOTball because he has a sore thumb ffs. I hope he injured his thumb pulling it out of his arse and now he will start grabbing some goals and passing to teammates in better positions!
I've never had an op on a broken thumb so I don't know, but would it really prevent him from playing? Presumably a local anaesthetic, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem, and if it's properly strapped up there'd be little risk of damaging it. We might rest him anyway because it's "only" Huddersfield, but we're experienced enough to know that it's a game we could easily slip up on.
I've said so. day 1 he dropped out on first round of lactate test. I think he's miles.off where klopp wants him
I reckon he was deffo awake for procedure but its about an "open" would from WEDNESDAY and asking to play saturday is a bit unrealistic. Out for this game but to play the following week.... IMO....
look if we can't deal with Huddersfield when we have a few injuries we are still a long way off being able to challenge at the top table at least in league terms.
He had like another 6 weeks to build fitness levels up. A full Klopp pre season. That said, I remember watching Firmino struggle to impose himself with niggly injuries and looking out of place only for him to become one of the most important names in our first team.
I personally think it takes 2 or 3 years to really build up. You have identified the perfect example of firmino. It took at least none year of klopp to get him near and the level out of him. For me both CMs bought look nowhere near the level and it could be next year after a full preseason. My view of klopp's methods are they are focused in season on shape, move replication, repetition. he has the fitness sessions really hard in summer and if he can get in
Keita, Mane, Salah, and VVD out says Klopp, but on the bright side Lallana is fit. If we can't beat Huddersfield then our squad is not good enough
International breaks: the Fifa invention that nobody wants or likes International football has become excessive, major tournaments are the only interest and frankly qualifying for those is also too much. Smaller groups (more groups obviously) Play all games over the summer, as there are less games to play surely 6 or so games over a 3 month period is easily managed. Drop this **** Nations league nonsense. Its a disgrace that these player are coming back injured and potentially costing the club that pays them points.
The main thing I hate is they look.out for themselves having at least Monday to Friday or Saturday and then maybe return players Friday the following week for a same Saturday. if they had one game not two every single break then nobody would really even mind imo. most of the time it's "glamour" friendlies. imo the nation's league is also a massive failure as its dull as dishwater seeing the same sides over 4 games in a pointless little tournament
I've said for years that they can bin the whole lot as far as I'm concerned. Club football is the only thing I'm interested in.
I knkw this is the Huddersfield match thread but very interesting insight on our last game and why it turned out as it did
