I personally think Fabinho should be in midfield for games like this.

I’d be looking to use him at CB versus top 6 sides ala Chelsea and spurs midweek but we lose so much by not having him in midfield against teams like Fulham. They were outstanding for the first half and full credit but then gave us 45 minutes to try and win the game... Fabinho and Henderson playing CB just made that task a real struggle - they get us on the front foot

I agree with that. We end up playing with both Henderson and Gini deeper to compensate for Fabinho not being there. We don't have the same control in the middle

The problem is Matip cannot stay fit for a sustained period hence the need for Fabinho to get used to playing CB. I really think we need to get a CB regardless of possible VVD and Gomez early returns. Matip is unreliable,Gomez has priors and we were short 1CB anyway. We cannot go into the knock out stages with the makeshift defence as the increased quality of teams will hurt us big. Still think we may just land that Ajax lad.

    Not really.
At this point last season Leicester and the Chavs had 26 and Man City 25.
    5th were on 17
We had 34 and the rest were eating our dust already.
This year we are understandably struggling but the rest are fairly average for this point in the season. I'm amazed and encouraged that we're not several points adrift by now.
Under the circumstances, we're doing ok. <ok>

ah but we were so brilliant last season that we took the points from any club unlucky enough to meet us therefore skewing the figures for other clubs to an artificial low <whistle>

PS like you i'm staggered , though obviously pleased , that we're equal top considering what has happened to us this season .

I said it before somewhere but every point we get without vvd is to be savoured.

We're doing brilliantly considering the injuries we have and have picked up since.

In other news, did anyone see Klopp going absolutely nuclear just after the Fulham goal? Beating his chest screaming at someone?

He was screaming at mo "mooooo for ****s sake be stronger"

Regarding the push just before on salah when he made a meal of it.

your point about missing VVD is quite true bro, he held the defence in a way nobody can so shipping few goals is a boon for us

Hes the rock that makes everyone else stronger and more confident and more able to play with more freedom in front of him.

With Gomez still fit its something that wouldn't have been too much a problem because we could have still kept near enough the same shape and high line.

We're in the **** alright but we're doing as best we can with what we have and not doing too bad at all. With all things considered.
