    Been saying this too. Is this Rogers' policy or the committee? Not making excuses for Rogers (too late for that now) but the time for big buys was with the Suarez money in the summer of '14 when we were going into the CL. No top whack player will want to come now anyway, so we'll continuously be on this ****ing hamster wheel of buying £10m players who are no better than what we already have, or paying even more for the mediocrity like Markovic, Lovren and, to a degree, Lallana, who should never have cost more than £15m tops. Fair enough if you can get a relative bargain such as Ings, but I fear we've paid double-bubble for Firmino, who just looks like Borini with go-faster stripes, so far.
