it was nothing to do with pace. go look at replays of zaha v Milner. Milner is c the king body position when defending. he never gets his shape right. all at a did was wait for Milner to half fall over himself try g to get right and when he did zaha knocked it by him and was gone. 90% of full back play is good body shape and not getting too close too quick.
nah... wait til cl starts back mate. we are nowhere near max revs. let klopp get a bit of sun on his back. 9 days to work on 2 or 3 training sessions a day with proper food and sleep between sessions. chance to rest and reset the team shape and systems.
No.though 9 days is a bit long. that's time to Leicester game. don't imagine a preseason here though. I'm talking work on patterns of play
Salah may have scored 50 goals in 72 league appearances goal ratio (0.69), but that pales into insignificance to Rashford's 25 in 98 appearances goal ratio (0.26) as he plays for BBC Salford
I must admit I wasn't feeling too confident when they went 1 up after our results against them in recent years. Quite an important win that was. Long way to go though. I still have City as 60/40 favourites due to their experience.
Its a shame they count his Chelsea appearances in that. I think it’s 2 in 13 so 48 in 59 for us, he’d beat the record if just used our games. Cole did it in 64 or 65.. back him to get 2 in 4 games
On the Mo diving stuff... What doesn't help is him being made the penalty taker; by going down, he is no longer giving up the scoring opportunity, he's attempting to get a better chance.
James Milner: Liverpool player sent off by his former PE teacher Jon Moss https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46946865
His second booking was madness. Everything to do with decision making, nothing to do with body shape - he was never getting there and had no need to. That said, Milner is what, 32? And consistently outruns his much younger opponents. Sure, his age is catching up with him, his pace can be found out and sometimes, especially when played out of position, he can make mistakes. However, he's been at the heart of the Klopp revolution. Vice captain, A model pro, willing to play anywhere without sulking and a character in the dressing room - not to mention the only player that we have who has won the bloody league....his professionalism and experience will be vital in the run in. I'm happy to have him in our squad....and I'd be happy to have him next year too.
second booking was down to suicide pass. he should have left it go too but his team mate played him into trouble that however is not what i am talking about. the two booking aside... when he was trying to defend zaha as a full back he got square on a couple times, got done changing body shape a couple times. Really what was needed was a concerted effort from midfield/rW to get back into good position and enable him to just focus on showing zaha inside so he could at least run with him to byeline as thats zaha's sole trick
To be fair they didn’t count the Mourinho years . Which was the whole basis of their point: that Rashford has become a better striker since Mourinho left. Personally it is too early to judge him. Let’s look at his record in 100 matches (post Mourinho) or 50 goals and see how they compare.
Only just got round to watching motd. Palace 1st goal - Fabinho filling in for Robertson and therefore no one covering in front of defense, by the time Fabinho spots the danger its too late. Our 1st goal - how slow was Sakho to react but nice finish Salah Our 2nd goal - Firmino scores a lot from those spaces Palace 2nd goal - Corner, someone was clearly holding Van Dijk from jumping Our 3rd goal - What a mistake by keeper. Fantastic diagonal by Fabinho though, offers so much more than Henderson Our 4th goal - nice goal Palace 3rd goal - Alisson come on. Henderson was completely unaware of the danger behind him too. Milner, love the guy, but I think he can't play full back anymore, not with a Zaha or similar on the other team. Alisson, first time I have been disappointed in him for a while Mane, yeah needs to get his head up more, but defensively and work rate he is important Keita, he needs to be careful. If Chamberlain comes back and flying, then Keita will find himself on the sidelines.
