I was a bit nervous of this game whilst watching it, probably because I was thinking of past performances when we dominated and struggled to score, but now it is over it was a comfortable, if hard fought at times, win.
I think they could appeal it, Salah had knocked the ball to far before he was fouled so not a goal scoring opportunity. The Palace player looked a good prospect, hope we keep an eye on him for the future.
He had a great game! Not that I'm complaining, but it was a bit of a shame. In fact, Palace played pretty well overall I thought. Made it an interesting contest, although they didn't threaten us all that much.
Well great result that. Always tricky place to play but relatively comfortable. Gomez and vvd were immense again. Real good partnership developing there. Forwards weren’t quite at it today but the can have an off day
I thought palace where excellent tonight. Considering big Ben offered very little going forward, they still created chances, a good structure at the back. They will push alot of top six teams this season at home, they could push on themselves. In the best of the rest, I'd put them right up there with Everton and utd. They look better than arsenal.
Alisson - Great distribution, constantly found Robertson on a penny VVD - Won everything Gomez - Solid TAA - Poor crossing Robbo - Quiet Widji - Solid Milner - Busy Keita - Solid Salah - Rusty but still scares the **** out of opponents Mane - Solid Firmino - Annoymous Alan Smith - Bitter Moron
Klopp: "You have to play it as it is and be a real challenger, play ugly, do all that type of stuff."
Asked about looking stressed during the tense finale:"In these moments the fuel is really low and maybe the players need a bit of help from an angry manager - 'run or I will kill you' - and they did that with a fantastic counter attack."
My lad brought a interesting point up, last season, you never new what mo was going to do, as soon as the golden boot and Kane claim came into it he started to look a bit tense, you could see he was trying to score. It's the same now, he gets the ball, his head is down and he's trying to shift it onto his left foot to get a shot away.
Odds on the pundits asking Hodgson about the penalty? Odds on them also asking him how happy he was to have a #legit goal against him disallowed for nothing?
Agree. The lad was excellent, that tackle on Mane was outstanding. Maybe Palace can be our new feeder club, starting with this young lad
Agreed.... good thing is... you've got Mane looking sharp again (my earlier point about decision making aside lol)... if Mane goes on a run of games with goals it takes that pressure off and others obviously... reversed last year. Nice to have rather than praying that one forward doesn't get injured or lose form....
