Of the past couple months or so of absolute w@nk performances, which was the worst? A lot of them just seemed identical, like we wouldn't score if we played all week.
It doesn’t do much for team spirit if one of your star players becomes disgruntled and feels victimised. Salah not the worst attacker look absolutely cheesed off at being subbed after 60 minutes. It’s ok when you are winning but when you are in a bad run and everyone is looking for scapegoats this doesn’t look good. I also saw Robertson criticising his fellow players last night. Again risky as it might either give people a kick up the backside or a kick in the groin as the attackers feel they are being blamed for the defeat. “Awful response. Heads should not drop when we concede” May be right but not sure it was up to him to castigate.
OK. The owners had the opportunity in January to bring in a badly needed centre back, instead we got a championship player and another kid. Doesn't exactly smack of going all out does it, it looks more like mend and make do. If the owners have shrugged their shoulders, it will leak down into the attitude if klopp and the players. I'm not suggesting they all came together and had a meeting and discussed giving the season a miss, but its obvious to see that at some point the issues we've had became back breaking, its a do your best as see how we go scenario now.
We are in a very difficult position now. It was alarming to see how heads dropped last night when the inevitable Chelsea goal went in last night. We have an injury crisis and a crisis of confidence. Gini probably off, maybe Mo as well. There are some good explanations about what has gone wrong but I cannot understand why a quality centre back or even two were not lined up for January. Klopp is no fool, if we could see this so could he. FSG have let the manager down badly and if there is no European football, there won’t be top quality recruits. As it stands, we have taken a huge step backwards and need serious investment
****ing far too much doom on these boards for my liking: can we have a bit more gloom to balance things out? Thank you.
Klopp's comments re. Ox and Milner subs are just baffling. Still cannot understand why he didn't bring Naby on.
the 3 central defenders we all have out had pace. So even though we had a high line they had the ability to get back and cover. None of our backs ups or recently acquired do, so why are we still playing a high line? Then we get into our back up midfielders, just like our first choice, they don’t score very many goals. The squad need an overhaul in midfield.
Think everyone, including, most importantly the opposition, have worked out that we're still trying to play like we have Virgil and Joe or Matip at CB still. Think only we haven't worked out that it is failing big time.
I think that was the most depressing display from us for years . Everyone knew it was a big game apart from the players considering their display . We prided ourselves on the fact that the whole was so much better than its individual parts .However there is no "Team" out there at present just a bunch of individuals many of which seem lacking in any drive at all . Klopp really needs to shake something up to try and get a reaction from the players . Right now either or both of personnel changes or formation changes should be happening since the squad is pretty much as strong as it gets this season . PS thought Kabak had his best game so far for us last night but not sure if that was more because so many others were so ****ing useless
I thought Klopps explanation as to why he brought Milner on made sense tbh. However his decision to take off your best striker and replace him Chamberlain was mystifying.
Not heard what he said. That performance was the worst of the season, I switched off immediately upon hearing the final whistle.
He said he thought Chelsea were getting too many opportunities to catch you on the counter, and he feared that they’d take one and end the game, so he brought on Milner to try and provide a bit more cover in midfield.
