What to do about Can? In the first half he was terrible, gave the ball away, played too deep and then he turns up in the 2nd half and even gets a winner.

It's not just Can though - Im not sure why he is now the new scapegoat because Gini and Lallana were both missing and useless, which is the same story in all games against these types of teams.

Not sure how Can got MOTM but it fits in with the narrative that if you score a goal, you'll be MOTM disregarding actual performance throughout 90. Happens all the time. But then again, at least he shows some balls and take responsibility on the ball.

What was evident is the huge gap between our front line and our midfield.

We have a midfield that can only perform against the big teams. We need at least 2 CM's to come in this summer in addition to a new defence, particularly the left side because that is where we are being targeted each game.

He was poor in the first half though but like you say so we're others. He seems to grow into games I've seen him improve in the 2nd half in a number of games. He's a real conundrum.

Signings yes LCB, LB and I'll say 1 midfielder and 1 forward.

Origi was awful. Really. His movement wasn't great and he started slowly, not closing down and generally unable to hold play.....We need a decent #9 this summer. Along with a few other positions; our bench was very weak yesterday....all kids <yikes>

I wonder how many of them are really capable of stepping up? Woodburn yes, TAA good cover. Gomez and Wilson no idea.

Yeah he has a knack of raising his game in the second half but we need him and everyone firing from the off.

Thoughts on the first goal. Excellent from Burnley - again, it starts from the left channel. Saw some criticism of Klavan which I think is slightly harsh because I think a) midfield should be doing a lot more to prevent the ball in the first place and b) Clyne completely loses him man.

Sticking with Clyne, I think he's been really poor this season. Been at fault for a number of goals and does not contribute a lot going forward. His one on one defending is excellent and he has pace which often masks his poor positioning. He can't head and his marking is average. His ability on the ball is so limited.

IMO, part of the reason why we struggle to break these teams down is because a) we have a midfield who are better off the ball than on the ball ans b) full backs who can't create.

Haven't seen enough of Woodburn to think he'll make it. I think Ojo is class but hasn't kicked on.

Gomez pre injury was a real talent and I hope he gets back to his best. TAA is possibly the closest now.

Woodburn can play, good first touch, good passing, good skill, good shooting. Pace is what we need on the left though and he doesn't have that but I'd say he's or most talented youngster.

He has not been getting regular chances, the one he got his performances were above average. I think he has a future. He is still young.

    My opinion

    1. Woodburn has intelligence, technical abilty but not pace.

    2. Ojo has pace but no brain.

It was another pathetic performance in my opinion. Coutinho might as well have not been on the pitch. Can, Wij and Lallana were useless. Milner has gone backwards as the season has gone on and looks useless at times, even lacking his effort. It was near enough the same as the Leicester game and we won by a pot luck strike from one of the sh!ttest players on the pitch who somehow won motm.

Really feels like an attitude problem to me though, there is clearly a lack of effort and concentration. It's not good enough

    Well. I cant really argue.

I thought wijnaldum tried his best.

Lallana didnt. Thats no were near his level and thats him just being bypassed.

    Coutinho was atrocious yes.

Origi was really poor in terms of jut taking the ball in.

    Can wanted to play cb

Jamie Carragher reacts furiously when Sky Sports colleague Jamie Redknapp interrupts him
Jamie Redknapp felt the wrath of Jamie Carragher when he interrupted the former Liverpool defender during the live broadcast of the side’s 2-1 victory over Burnley on Sunday afternoon, leading to a hilarious reaction that is already sweeping social media.
Carragher was beginning his dissection of Liverpool’s performance after they fought from behind to see off Burnley thanks to goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Emre Can.
The Sky Sports pundit had only just touched on the Liverpool defence though when his ex-club colleague Redknapp interrupted him to argue that Liverpool were showing Burnley too much respect by adjusting their tactics to try and nullify them.
It triggered a brilliant reaction from Carragher, who was fuming with the fact that he had just been cut off mid-rant, and when Redknapp turned to see if Carragher agreed with his point, the former Liverpool defender made it clear he wasn’t happy.
“Yeah, but what has that?” Carragher said. “I know, you interrupted me. I wasn’t finished. It was 3-1!”
Redknapp, completely missing the fact that he had infuriated his colleague, then turned to presenter Dave Jones to continue making his point, leaving Carragher with his head in his hands.

A midfield of Can/Windy/Lala is no midfield at all in my book, and asking Ford to drop back as some sort of quasi left half is no way to put it right, in my book.

I think the game shows that when we are in a battle the lack of a physical presence in the middle really lets us down. Lalla and Wiji are great when we are on top but when we need to dig in and fight for the ball they can go missing as it's not their natural game.

It's that DM slot that needs to improve, Hendo is a big lad but he's not really a specialist in that position and **** knows what Can is.

I think we need to build on Burnley game, we need to be able to identify weaknesses of the opposition and capitalise on it.
During the second half Burnley resulted to playing long ball, at a stage I must confess I was scared they are going to get
the equaliser. It was right Klopp took Origi off and brought Lucas in.
