    Joe Gomez injury latest

Liverpool can confirm Joe Gomez sustained a fracture to the lower left leg during the 3-1 win at Burnley on Wednesday night.

The defender needed to be substituted after 23 minutes at Turf Moor following a challenge from which he was unable to continue.

Gomez’s injury was further assessed by the Reds’ medical team at Melwood on Thursday.

Initial indications suggest the 21-year-old is facing a spell of up to six weeks out of action, though this is dependent on how his treatment and rehabilitation programmes progress.

should be grateful that Bardsley didn't badly injure Milner with his assault tackle

    least worst outcome imo.

It was pleasing to see we were able to step up a gear after going behind. There were even glimpses of the great attacking okay from last year!

I'm very pleased with the results we've been getting and our position in the league - if it weren't for the exceptional City side we'd be firmly on top.
However, I've always maintained that performance and entertainment value is important to me so it would be hypocritical of me to say otherwise now. If we won the league playing solid but dull football like we have done often this year I'd take it - because it's been so long - but I wouldn't want it to be our MO for years to come. Success and attractive football are not mutually exclusive, so I hope we can improve the performances and maintain the success rate as we progress through the season.
Then we'll have a team to be proud of.

We would be nicely placed reet enough.

Imo we have taken a step back to go two forward. klopp really wanted Keita. He aslo wanted fekir so the model of football is clear and imo he's spent 3 months or more trying to figure a any to get what he can out of what hes got.

It's fair to say it's a fair silk purse from a sows ear at this point IF we get past Napoli.

    Alisson
    Taa gomez vvd robertson
    Fabinho Keita
    Fekir
    Salah firmino mane
I don't believe that double pivot is anything but 433 but it certain shows us what his intent was.

The issue for me is that klopp has no confidence in shaqiri as that advanced cm as he won't plug a gap on the way back.

Milner will do imo we will I hope see a rotation of the two as season goes on.

Henderson and windy.... well if fabinho can't run but he can pass we will see. Get Keita flying and imo it's half the battle

Bit late. We play Napoli, Utd, Arsenal and City over the next few weeks with no Gomez. Actually to make it sounds worse, we play all those teams with Lovren

I'd rather have Gomez but Lovren surrounded by Alisson, TAA, VVD and Robbo isn't as bad as Matip, Moreno, etc.

I rather Matip over Lovren. But as we saw yday, put anyone next to VVD and they’ll be protected.

Matip was actually pretty good yesterday I thought, and Moreno was ok. When these fringe players come in, that’s all I want from them.

They were a bit rough but that's the way it is when you don't play.
