Famous 'Dancing Kopite' returns to Anfield
LFC

The iconic dancing Kopite, which adorned the cover of the Football Echo - or Pink Echo - for more than half a century, has made its way back to Anfield.

A lifesize wooden figure of the famous Kopite, which was produced for marketing purposes in the 1960s, was found during the Echo’s move from Old Hall Street to new offices in St Paul’s Square last month.

The Kopite held an upturned tin tack representing a ‘point’ when the Reds drew, and a sobbing version was used for when the Reds lost.

LFC’s museum curator Stephen Done was on hand to accept the piece of memorabilia from Liverpool Echo sports journalist David Prentice at Anfield, where the Kopite enjoyed some time exactly where he should be - on the Spion Kop!

Stephen said: "It’s a wonderful piece of social and cultural history and something we’d be delighted to display in the museum.

"I’m planning for it to go into the museum in a cabinet beside the recreation of the Kop, where we have items relating to supporters including ‘Dr Fun’ another great character.

"It’s a beautiful piece of work and we’re delighted to take possession of it."

I'm looking at Brighton's team against City. They have so many great names.

Proper, Bong, Gross, Dunk, Duffy

Coming up with a username as a BHA supporter must be a lot of fun.

Just watched Chelsea risk it all on a sub strength team here then threw on all.

Brighton played midweek now. Have the another big 90 in them last game.

I think with a week off we will beat them this weekend.

Just been listening to Ian Ladyboy from the Daily Nazi on 5L. He's very disappointed that all the relegation issues will be sorted before the final day, and reckons he'll be travelling to Anfield to hopefully see Liverpool get beat by Brighton so that Chelsea qualify. Clog-sparking ****.

Thanks to Huddersfield, we now only need a draw against Brighton.

Still wouldn’t test anyone - blitz them in the first half then take it easy.

Will be (should be) a walk in the park against a relieved team with their minds on a well deserved rest on sandy beaches.

Would be the worst humiliation and shock if we now fail to qualify.

nah it's just be football.

cos we can then win cl and laugh.

that's football innit

That’s a good point. The players have lost motivation and will lose even more should we have guaranteed CL
.
Why don’t we lose on Sunday, hope Chelsea Win and get 4th. Then we go into the CL 200% more motivated and hungry, win the trophy and dump Chelsea out of next season’s CL?

Sounds good to me if it happens <ok> but just realised that they would still get in <doh> :(
