I meant not reliant on one person to score all of the goals. To rely on one person to score goals all season is so risky. And your reference to Vardy is precisely my point - take that one player out, and they're f*cked. Which is why it's crucial to have players who can chip as well.
All the best sides have a striker who slams in circa 20 goals a season, without one you're highly unlikely to be a top side mate.....
I usually disagree with Jimmy but I do understand his argument with Benteke I just think that Jimmy takes his point too far. Benteke is a good player who will score a lot of goals and does fit into the team well in certain games. He's not suited to every game the game against City was a good call as the 2 big lumps at the back would have enjoyed the challenge of playing against him but didn't enjoy the movement from Firmino. There will be games though where bullying the center backs will be needed and Benteke is then our man. I think Firmino is suited to todays game but if plan A doesn't work then the big lad is there to help.
