True, with a lot of the bigger teams going out. But Europa League winners get a CL place which makes it a bigger priority than FA Cup. Plus it gives the club more exposure to players across Europe, which is essential given Rodgers has a limited profile.
Which is why I said that would be priority. However, I think other teams will do the same and there are some very good signs in the competition. Its a bit risky to just go for that so we have to look at the league. To win the FA cup we'd only have to play another what, three or four games? EL would be another nine
hoping Gerrard gets a full 90 mins so he doesn't start on Saturday. I would also like Ibe to play, and for Markovich to get some more experience
If Sturridge still cant start I back Gerrard a lot more for goals in AM than Sterling as a striker or Lallana in AM. Biggest goal threat with out Sturridge has Sterling and Gerrard both in attack.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has indicated he will make several changes for the FA Cup trip to Bolton to keep his team fresh for a busy programme of games in February including three Premier League games and and a Europa League tie against Turkish side Besiktas. "When you have so many games you have to plan forward and look at that but I always believe the next game is very important and I will always pick a team I think can win the game," Rodgers said. "It will be a tough game for us. We have a big month coming up and we want to continue in the cup competitions as well as keeping the momentum going in the league. "Where I need to change and rotate I will do that but the objective is still the same, to get three points or get through to the next round."
Midfielder Darren Pratley misses out for Bolton with a torn hamstring as they bid to reach the fifth round. Strikers Craig Davies and Emile Heskey are battling hamstring problems, while goalkeeper Adam Bogdan (ankle) is out. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is fit to make his 700th club appearance after being rested against West Ham at the weekend because of a tight hamstring. Daniel Sturridge, injured for five months before scoring in Saturday's 2-0 win, is likely to be on the bench.
Ibe is still cup tied. Markovic doesn't end in h. It's č, so just pronounce is like ch. Aside from that I agree
Anyway, this is the team I'd play tonight. 4-2-2-2 Migs Manquillo Lovren Sakho Enrique Can Lucas Markovic Gerrard Balotelli Borini
Confirmed #LFC team v @OfficialBWFC: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Allen, Gerrard, Moreno, Markovic, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling
No balotelli even on the bench. Disappointed, did well vs Chelsea, more than Lambert has done! Gerrard and Allen holding? Hmmm.
