If the checked it the rule should be that ter stegen faked a potential red card and should therefore be booked. No option, no room for ref manoeuvre. Straight yellow for acting. Var should be the ultimate deterrent
But that was var'd...i said a red card incident. As in ter stegen made out wijnaldum punched him in the face and should be sent off. Varcan only look at penalties, red cards, mistaken identity, goals. There was nothing to far on that goal. So if there was a review it was to send wijnaldum off. Ergo if you find it's play acting you MUST punish the cheat.
no you confirm its not a red card. What you are arguing is what you want VAR to be not what it is designated to be used for. Personally if we must use it i would prefer it was used to change only clear & obvious errors including offside calls though i accept the problem with offside*. *which is team is flagged offside when onside there is nowt that can be done to make it up to the hard done to team hence the instruction to linesman not to flag and to leave it to VAR unless absolutely no doubt about being offside.
So you are saying then it's well worth trying it on as it'll break up play and if you wind up the player he might do something stupid. In other words a cheats charter.
no i'm saying i don't want VAR every 10 seconds and even with VAR the cheating happens all the time - i even commented during a break in play in the first half last night that both teams were "trying to play the ref".
I'D rather the ref be told player x just tried to get player y sent off and to book player x for cheating. Quite simple
since VAR abdicates responsibility on holding at corners / free kicks not so sure it is unless it is absolutely blatant like Bamford for Leeds against Villa. The more you let VAR do the more people will want it to do. We will never agree on this as i don't want VAR & you do - just consider it a philosophical disagreement
what all of them including our lads lobbing themselves to the ground on a number of occasions. most games will end 6-5 thats players not goals
It's clear when to use it. If a **** can fake it to get someone sent off and force a review then he should be severely punished when's it's found he's delayed game by 2mins in review.
As a nuetral that game and Brazil 1-7 Germany (Jurgen's team hehe) are the most amazing matches i have ever seen, then Spurs do that ! I would say the Barca manager got it wrong to play 3 up front when they know how attacking you are.
