If they scored fair enough not a lot you can do about it, but having 5 defenders on the pitch ain't great for trying to score lol.

It does(to me any way) confirm Studge is definitely off, just hope we get a decent value for him.

 

The thing is - Bournemouth hardly created anything before or after the change. We didn't need to go defensive.

 

Indeed...it's whether our players are capable...Chelsea did the exact same thing last night...difference is, they have players with skill and balls.

 

It just astounds me how many we concede from second/third balls when attempting to clear.. I'm not expecting world class pin point headers to initiate a counter attack but surely our players have learned how to head/kick more than 10 yards????

It starts at the back for me frank.

De gea is world class and the defence know this and more often got them out the ****, and it helps install confidence in them and they improve.

We have 2 keepers who the defence (my opinion) are not sure what to expect and we are all over the ****ing show.

Yeah I know both keepers have their fans on here, but hypothetically speaking if we had de gea we would have a more confident defence.

 

How costly will those 2 dropped points end up being?

Personally I think the extent of Mane's injury might decide your top 4 fate, if he gets back in a week or 2 I reckon you'll have enough, without him I wouldn't be confident of you seeing it through, as he's absolutely key to the way you play imo.

 

That and Zonal marking with brainless players..I'm not against Zonal as a rule but I think it confuses some of our thicker players and gives our more cowardly ones an excuse..

Since our lot seem to panic when they have to think of two things at once...give them one job..this man..mark him..challenge him in the air..

By all means go back to Zonal when you have players with the brains to execute it.

 

Mane and Lallana for me.

Henderson while he improves us in midfield is replaceable.

Our defence is a ****ing shambles though, and will cost us sadly.

No mate, I couldn't give a **** tbh. Given we've finished 11th for 2 seasons running I think you finishing above us should have always been a given this season.

or De Gea would be so shaken by playing in behind our defence he suffers crisis in confidence & turns into Robles.

TBH it reminds me of the constant switching of goalie / defenders back under Souness Evans (& Houllier to some extent) yet nothing changed.
We need to decide that these are the players (whoever they are) & work them till they drop on organisation & positioning and preferably get in an expert defensive coach. If Pulis or Allardyce were in charge (heaven forfend) we would not be conceding these goals.
