The first 20 minutes or so was the disappointment to me. We clearly didn't go for it. Safety first, entertaining football second.
It's because mclaren thinks because it worked at Tottenham we should do it every game. It highlights how stupid he can be, however we didn't lose and we are still doing well 7 from 9 when we all expected 3 at best.
As I said earlier in the thread, entirely my fault. We never win when I go!! Still haem't seen us win since the qualifying round of the Europa League I did have the pleasure of enjoying a few jars with Albert and JPF before the game though, so it was more than a worthwhile trip. My only disappointment was that JPF didn't bring his fishing rod - could have come in handy with the state of the pitch, especially in the second half. I was surprised to see the game finish. I'm not going to judge anybody's performance today. That pitch was as close to unplayable as you'll see!
Always a pleasure sir! Saw Heed at HT and he will join us next time. Heed... soz for not giving you the heads up.. it was a last minute thing bud... but I've bee pissed for two days.. you looked well though mate!
It's hard to know whether that is a good point or not. Yes, we had lots of chances but we could easily have lost it as well towards the end. Conditions were abysmal and suited villa to a certain extent. Still though, that's 7 points out of 9 and I'm sure most of us would have taken that before the Liverpool game.
Villa scored from their only shot in anger, De Jong and Perez missed sitters, classic disappointing home point. I'm not too downcast though, because we take another notch out of the 40 we need. Performances wise, Colback and Mbemba did well for me, and Colo with a goal! Disappointing from Dummett, but he ain't a left back.
Let's just say that if your next fake account is called Jose Mourinho, nobody will notice anything amiss!!!
Main thing is we didn't lose. Had a torrid 20mins after the break, they coped better with bad conditions. Perez, Gini and SDJ though You simply have to put one of those away. Not sure why he took SDJ off, poor decision from McClaren, I wish he'd been a bit braver and got him, Perez and Mitro going at them. We're at home.
Really, Aston Villa only have 7 points, our main rivals for relegation won including Norwich winning at Man Utd. That was a must win game last night for me. The 20-30 minutes after half time was very concerning.
. The 20-30 minutes after half time was very concerning. It certainly was and not for the first time we are left asking the question, What on earth gets said to them at half time? We came out half asleep and sitting back, why?
After yesterday's poor display I hope McClaren is watching the Swansea game. For a team 3rd bottom of the league they are playing very good football spraying the ball all over the place and not looking like a team who haven't won a game for ages. We could be down back in the bottom 3 if they manage the 3 points.
No end product from them though mate. For all their passing accuracy its all about putting the ball in the back of the net.
Well at least Swansea didn't grab a win. I'd have taken this position 3 weeks ago. 7 points from the last 9 (when most of us were thinking we'd be lucky to get 3) and three teams below us not winning. It's in our own hands to not be in the bottom three at the beginning of January, and we're certainly still in touch at the start of the transfer window - and a few weeks ago that was the only slim hope any of us really had.
Me too but Everton will beat us along with west brom and Arsenal and we will be back down there. We will definitely get relegated unless we spend well in January
