Think is, the first couple of minutes set the tone. And that was a sloppy bouncing back pass from Robbo to a misplaced pass from Adrian. Who knows if alisson was in goal. I’d like to think we wouldn’t have conceded 7 though

If Tommy Lawrence is still alive I'd give him the green shirt. Even if he's dead, his coffin wouldn't have done that **** up for the first. Oh, and people excusing him for the deflections - have a look at when Villa hit the bar: he's on his way to the corner flag, for some reason. He is utterly ****e.

Gonna have to change tactic of letting players shoot from outside the box too much. Adrian just isn’t Alison. You need to change tactics

We should have played like proper away team and sit back and counter attack.

    My ratings.

Adrian. 1 : Gets a point for stopping Watkins 1-on-1. Just Pickford with long arms.

Trent: 2 . Great to have a right back that can hit 70 yard cross field balls. Pity he can't defend.

Robbo: 6 Our only hope in the first half. Then hope was dashed.

Virgil: 4: Simply not the player he was before the lockdown. Becoming The Emperor's New Clothes.

JoGo: -1: FFS, I was his biggest supporter once. He's been shot since Sterling tore him a new one back in June. I thought he was coming back after Arsenal last week False dawn.

Windy: 3 Completely overrun in midfield. Not our most creative player, but didn't string a pass together.

Keita: 2 Just ****ing get rid. Offers nothing defensively. Offers less going forward.

Fab: 5 Just never got his foot in as a DM, and was little better than JoGo at CB.

Jota: 5 Lively, and with Robbo was our only (false) hope. Faded to nothing in the second half.

Bobby.: 2 Didn't complete many passes, even twom yard ones. Hapless.

Mo: 6 Did little wrong when he got the ball.

Subs: Minnie : 3 Aquillani without the injuries, so far.

Milner: 5. One desperate block to stop them getting 8.

Jones: 5: Didn't do much, right or wrong.

Jurgen: 4 Game was lost by half time, but I'd hoped we'd keep the score down.

Desperately crap. We play The ****e in a fortnight - if they're feeling sorry for themselves, they'd better get over it.

What's wrong with Bobby? Loved the way he got stuck into defenders but it's been a long time since I've seen a performance like that.

Yeah seen enough of Keita to know not good enough even think Mini won't make the grade either. Overall shocking performance from everyone, makes me think if they've got the lurgy and not letting on.

for everything we did right against Arsenal and Chelsea, we did wrong a dozen time’s over against villa. None of our players are that bad, it was just a piss poor performance from top to bottom.

one swallow doesn’t make a summer they say.....so bring on the next game...

Don't think you lot should read too much into that tbh, just one of those freak results.

I think the only knock on it could have is potentially reduce the fear factor for other sides when they play you. Similar to what's happened with City over the past year.

If that happens, and especially when Mane and Allison are not playing, we're ****ed.

I wonder if it's to do with the lack of fans? This isn't me making excuses but just looking at the reasons for some strange results. If people think it's sour grapes they are wrong but I'll say it anyway.
What I mean is that when there's a full stadium there's a different feel to it all, a more serious feel that this all has consequences and players will mentally prepare themselves for the occasion. Without the fans does it just feel different and is it more difficult to motivate the mind correctly? Just putting that out there as a theory, might be nonsense but there have been some strange results.
