It's because the 'New Labour Party' are as far removed from the working class as possible. They were more Tory than the Tories.

    Valley

    They had a manifesto.
Another flagship policy was to do away with Trident.
Does everyone have a **** fit because this didn't come to pass?
    No.
    Why?
Because the majority of the voting public are for keeping the nuclear weapons and the Tory party were not having it.

He (or the Lib Dems to be accurate) could only get out of coalition negotiations what either of the two main parties were prepared to offer and what would fly with the voting public.
The Tories weren't having free tuition fees and the majority of the voting public voted for parties that weren't offering such a policy either (including the Labour party).
    A weak negotiating position no?
They did manage (with the Tories) to cobble together a policy that has resulted in more students from disadvantaged backgrounds attending University though right? Nobody wants to talk about that though. Also, most of the people who live near you are now paying £0 tax as well, but let's just focus on 1 policy they couldn't get past the Tories though right?

This has been the tactic of the Blue and Red parties from the start. Discredit the Lib Dems and get rid of them.

The Lib Dems discredited themselves once they did a deal with the Tories. The fact is, Clegg promised to rid tuition fees. He produced the biggest slap in the face by trebling the fees all so that in his memoirs he can say he was Deputy Prime Minister.
Lib Dems will be annialated which is a shame because I like Kirsty Williams the Welsh Lib Dems leader and would have considered voting for her.

It's because Plaid is the only threat to Labour in Wales.

In order to grow their vote Plaid needs English speaking Welsh voters (in the valleys) to start voting for them...Labour know this and won't give Plaid the platform for Leanne to hold the Labour party to account for their record in Wales and make him look silly.

As you say, it's exactly the same as what Cameron did.
    Hypocrisy eh?

As I've said before, they're all the bloody same and I don't trust them at all. If only when Parliament meet in full next we could put gunpowder underneath the chambers :)

    Some news for you.

    You miss the point completely.

The Lib Dem “achievements” after falling into bed with the most draconian government in recent history should never have happened. Their existence as a coalition partner was based on a lie. The biggest lie of all. Clegg made the biggest and most publicised U turn in recent political history.

The Lib Dems cheated. Their “achievements” don’t count.

Just like Ben Johnson who “won” Olympic gold. He cheated and was erased from the history books. That’s what is going to happen to the Lib Dems on May 7th 2015. They will be erased.

Clegg sold his own voters down the river and jumped into bed with the Tories, supporting an austerity programme that has brought the working class in this country to their knees. A period of the greatest pay inequality in recent history, supported by the Lib Dems, desperate for their five minutes of power.

Is that what Lib Dem supporters voted for in 2010? No they didn’t.

Clegg was supposed to be the new kid on the block. A breath of fresh air between the constant Labour/Tory sniping, almost a fresh start for politics in this country.

But he turned out to be the biggest snake in the grass of all. Many of his own rank and file supporters are embarrassed by his actions and have left the party. Some have tried to take the leadership off him. But they failed and the result is that the Lib Dem leader is now their greatest liability. A vote loser.

So we come to the current election.

While Labour and the Conservatives battle it out in 2015, UKIP has emerged as the third party. The Lib Dems are consigned to fighting for 4th/5th spot with the Greens. The Lib Dems support has wilted.

Many voters have been waiting for this moment. An article in todays Independent reads “Where are Ed Miliband, Nigel Farage and David Cameron in the latest opinion polls?” No mention of Clegg.

I can’t remember a politician causing so much outrage and quite rightly Clegg and his tin-pot party will be consigned to the scrapheap on May 7th 2015.

Leanne Wood is getting stronger with each debate. Shame people will vote for their 'family party' rather than listening to the people in tonight's debate.

    FACTS

    1) The countries debt was caused by reckless gambling by the Banking sector in London, New York, and Honk Kong.

    2) This reckless gambling by the Banks was caused by Mrs Thatcher and her USA counterpart who both started the de regulation, which removed all the safety checks that were in place in the Banking sector.

    3) The Lib Dems are going to get castrated at the election on May 7th, and will become a non entity.

    4) Another hung parliament is on the Cards.

    5) Labour have done very little for Wales and the working man.

    6) The Tories are the most despicable of all the parties, and have demonstrated this over the last 5 years.

    7) Cameron is a cowardly ****.

    8) A coalition of the 3 Women would be far more positive than all the rest of the self serving male dominated garbage that is on offer currently.

    9) Peace & Security will became the main issues on the world stage, as the world continues to descend into further Anarchy.

    10) Global warming will mean that Wales will bask in glorious sunshine for the next 20 years

Terror I never took you to be a Lib Dem, usually you have to be chilled out to qualify...............<laugh>

Yeah this isn't a ****ing race this is politics and negotiations we're talking about, a little more subtle than your black and white world view.

By your logic when Labour and SNP attempt to form a coalition after this election SNP will be betraying their voters if they can't negotiate Scottish Independence as part of the deal.
    Yes?

    So either;
    1) Labour, the much bigger partner in the proposed coalition, should grant Scotland independence in order to keep the Tories out
    or
    2) There is no coalition and Labour form a minority government relying on the SNP and PLAID's support. IF either of them vote any Labour legislation through without being granted independence for Scotland and Wales....they have sold out all of their voters.

That's not how politics in the real world works.
    Politics is all about compromise.

What has happened is that some mud has been slung the Lib Dems way by people with a vested interest and the more gullible amongst us has bought it.
    ALL parties compromise.
ALL governments end up going back on some of their promises.
What is important is the achievements.
    The substance.

Substance counts for very little in political voting. How many of the British electorate read a whole manifesto of any of the parties, never mind all of them?

Politics is becoming more about image and whether you like it or not, the Lib Dems have the "tuition fees" image hanging over them - and it will be there until Clegg is given the boot.

It's a pity that proportional representation hadn't been brought in because based on the current opinion polls, 93% of the British electorate won't be voting Lib Dem.
