I thought he did more than that? If that was his only job you have to wonder how he ****ed up so magnificently.

I'm not sure anyone actually knows what a DOF is supposed to do. Its a very ambigious title. It's like me calling myself the Director of Communications, all I do is talk to people.

Shame, I thought it was going to be a vote for one of the forum users to be director of football. I would have put my name forward. (It's not tooo late)

Rafa should be our Director of football. Great vision (look at youth coming through today and thank Rafa).

As DOF he won't be able to upset the players as much either.

On the other hand I can't see a more different couple. Sensible, stern, visionary Rafa and soft, sugar-talking, head in the clouds Rodgers.

No. The only cases where it works are when you have a manager and a DoF who know each other inside out and thus share the same vision. Not two random people like Comolli and Dalglish.

Not like they had long to get it right though, sure we can't all have 5 years of failure and still keep our jobs I guess<ok>

    Absolutely 100% no.

I cannot believe people are even considering it.

We have just lost 2-3 years as a result of having one.

    **** no.

When I was a consultant I spent a remarkably large amount of time convincing people to tell themselves to shut up <ok>

I think what Liverpool really need is another poll. I recommend Kucszak.

No! You don't mean! You can' really be serious! not the one, the only Fu Manchu?

He'd have to be at least 150 by now and as far as I know, knew absolutely nothing about fooball. Though his pal Confucius may have had some thoughts on the matter.

As others have already pointed out, the DoF should be someone who understands the club and the ethos - something that is shared with the manager which would hopefully minimise any disagreements.

The owners had the right idea when they brought in a DoF - it's just a shame they brought in the wrong man IMO.

Ian Ayre is the MD but it seems as if he's involved in too much at the moment; constantly talking to the media, involved in the transfers, negotiations, running the club etc. I think he needs more people around him to help.
