McLaren plans further upgrades for the Hungarian Grand Prix

Hopefully they can continue to build on the Germany improvement where Button and Hamilton finally had a car that could fight for the win again.

MW said that they were 2 races behind with development, really feel that may have cost them. Lewis 4/75 points and Jenson 23/75, Alonso 68/75. They really need to fly now, podiums all the way until Brazil.

Yes.
I believe Ferrari is two steps ahead and Red Bull one and a half, although the latter's latest indiscretion may have been a little stumble…

Lets's face it neither Lewis or Jenson are going to win the title, so I personally think that McLaren should just develop the car with 2014 in mind

They were further back last season against Seb and it didn't work for this season so they should focus on getting 2nd again in the WCC or risk getting 4th behind Ferrari and Lotus.

3 races ago, Hamilton led the championship. Anything can happen over the next 10 races.

Not wishing it on Fernando but the guy will get some bad luck some time, right?

We can only but hope! Seb had a small burst of bad luck last season and then the domination continued. So whoever is the challenger to Alonso either it be: (Lewis, Seb, Button, Webber, Kimi) they need to win every race or score highly within that time as I dont think they will get another chance after that.

He is having such a good, clean and lucky season that I could "try" to punch him in the face at point blank range and I would still miss him. He is just looking untouchable at the moment and thats the real problem here since somebody needs to rattle him a bit to drop the ball a few times.

Same situation I was saying last season, there's no way in hell will they chuck away a lead like that with the "number 2 driver" being allowed to attack the "number 1" considering what's at stake. I was proven correct at Silverstone last year wasn't I? A lot of people said RBR weren't like Ferrari or McLaren, but I did warn you all that it would happen and that it was only a matter of time it being used.

But again though, no way in hell will Ferrari allow Massa to get in Alonso's way now, he will like it or piss off out of Ferrari pronto!

Problem is that there is not one person who is actually challenging Alonso, it varies race to race and they are all taking points off each other rather than actually cutting Alonso's lead down.

I'm sorry but i just cannot see Hamilton reducing a deficit of 62 to Alonso when there are three other men ahead of him in the championship, also when was the last time Alonso actually made a mistake that meant he failed to score?, as for him to lose the WDC he is going to need at least one DNF

I am not being deliberately controversial here. Nor do I wish to stir up a hornet's nest. This is my genuine belief:

There is only one person who, as a driver, Alonso really fears; and he is a comfortable distance behind in the points at the moment. At present, the Ferrari driver must be feeling life is pretty damned good!

Wow, Fernando has a lot of respect for Narain Karthikeyan.

Very true, we just need to ignore these stats: 46 races since Fernandos last and only reliability based DNF for Ferrari. The last 22 races in a row he has scored points

That is astonishing.
I had no idea it was that long ago, but it is truly astonishing!

I wouldn't mind betting that's an all-time record for Grand Prix racing – and probably on both counts!

If I was one of Fernando's rivals I would be more worried getting within 20-30 points of him first and then hope he gets a bit unlucky.

You will have to believe he will have a DNF though, that's the flaw with it.

Btw cosicave, do you mean Schumacher or Raikkonen?

No. I am quite certain he fears neither of them! (I offer my apology in advance to EMSC…).
