Visiting rival fan's boards? - why so defensive?

No need to say it twice mate, Im sure most people got the message the first time...

 

I genuinely hate Spurs, they have an arrogance about them that belies their status. The ones I know are also fickle as hell, I remember the game against Burnley in the league cup a while back. Spurs took a healthy lead in from the first leg, but proceeded to then get hammered 3-0 at Turf Moor to force the game into extra time (it was the one which brought up the whole 'away goals should count' debate as Burnley were a Championship team at the time). I watched it with a few Spurs fans and all the way through the match they were proclaiming themselves as ****, they players were all a disgrace and weren't fit to wear the shirt, the manager should be ashamed etc. Then Defoe and Pav scored at the very end of extra time to send them to Wembley and all of a sudden they were the greatest team ever, chants of 'we're going to Wembley', 'It was never in doubt' rang out. Total tossers.

 

You mags won't be in the our south stand next season! (stadium of light), superb news for us you will have to hike up 5 flights of stairs like in your stadium. It is on our SAFC website if you need proof.

exactly what i said why do they get abuse when they don't wum ask sid if he gets grief or blackcat steve that's the point i was making the ones who wum then come on here with a valid point don't stand a chance where as those like the two mentioned come on and have good banter get no abuse at all.where as i've found if one of us goes onto your board with valid points/good banter and you've said it "they only ever get abuse from one or two posters"

We were **** and Burnley thoroughly deserved to go through that night.

Okay i grant not all spurs fans are arrogant. you seem like a perfectly reasonable guy but as you say it decended into a farce very quickly which can quickly sour a mans perception. if you look at the comments posted by myself to the rational replies you can clearly see i'm trying to stoke a bit of banter and debate in amongst trying to defend myself. the whole thing was a genuine attempt to have a bit crack but for one of your brethrin to basically come out and say that all i'm doing it fishing for compliments is ludicris.

I guess it feels like we are spying on their training ground or something... as if what they are talking about is actually gonna have an influence on management etc... and although some would like to think that Pardew is avidly scanning these pages for advice I highly doubt this site has a huge bearing on his decisions. Likewise with other teams. Also think that defensive remarks are made by people who equate their sexual prowess, and ahem, size, with the success of their team. Admit youre human, and your team is too, life gets a lot simpler then

but you could see why there might be a reaction anongst some that would suggest that comments such as that could be seen as arrogance.

anyways i'll be at the game and i'm sure it'll be a blinder. if you do want to have a bit of crack on here about the fixture i'm sure you'll be received a bit more warmly on our board!

If only there was some way to stop Mags posting in your threads? Maybe a pilot scheme of "Mag free" threads?

 

i'm sure us mature mags can live without petty name calling and childish banishments.

 

And I was one of the vast majority on our board who argued against this proposal...
