A pint of Leffe good sir and some roasted nuts. Am pleasantly surprised at JWP contribution this season and would have no problem with him playing alongside Cork when he comes back from injury. I am a bit disappointed with the lack of chances De Ridder has had however. I believe he has the potential to make some dazzling runs down the right, feint a cross, pass to Clyne who sweetly crosses it for a Lambert bicycle kick. I fear however i may have surpassed my drink limit and this crazy rendition may be noted as a ludicrous daydream.
What do you think of the new barmaid lads? I'm thinking of taking her on permanently but there is a bit of resistence to the idea from a certain quarter at the moment.
Will that be leffe blonde sir? I am not sure that I share your enthusiasm for young Steeeeeeeve. I'm quite keen that we start to develop a strong sense of working together and supporting each other between our wide players and the full backs. That I think is one of our biggest problems at the moment and I think Steeeeeve would struggle with that as he is a bit of a maverick.
I have just visited the Hornet's Nest on the Watford site and I must say it makes my attempt at a pub look a little pathetic.
I forgot we even had De Ridder... I was happier that way. Highly doubt he'll get a chance this season, and I can't pretend I'm disappointed.
Great stuff St Godders- this has cheered the site up a little ! If you are still serving - pint of Ringwoods Old Thumper please, served by your new barmaid !
A Leffe blonde would be marvelous. It is a pity the opinion of De Ridder is mainly negative as i see a lot of N Dyer in him. (brilliant at running down the wing but terrible at crossing) Whilst at university in Swansea i was fortunate enough to see him play numerous times and he showed his speed can ability to get pas players can be a blessing/
Evening all. Godders, hope I'm not too late for a large Lagavulin with a pint of Doom Bar chaser and a bag of salt and vinegar? Cheers, you're a gent. I think the cup game against Wednesday will give us a few pointers as to who is going to break through next from the U21's. If Luke Shaw is getting back to fitness and has a good game he could come on from the bench against Villa. And just how much longer is Cork going to be out?
I was completely expecting a season long loan to Belgium or the Netherlands. Wonder if he will go to the Championship, otherwise he'll have to sit until January. Can't see him getting a chance in a million years.
A pint of Fullers Honey Dew and a bag of salted pistachios please Landlord, and one for your good self. I've got nothing to add to the debate other than... Luke Shaw FELB (future England left back).
Big mistake there on my part. Must have had a drop or two too many when I posted that. You are of course absolutely right. Now what can I get you? We have a few guest ales as you can see.
I'll have a scotch and soda. Thank you. I have to confess I haven't seen Luke Shaw play yet so I have had to rely on the opions of others and in the main they have shown good judgement.
Right folks it's quiz time at The Slipped Halo and the first question is when did Nick Holmes make his senior debut? I was there but I can't remember when it was or even who we were playing. I could look it up but then that would be cheating.
