I'm with Virgin and have been for years. No problems and faster than my friends Sky although I don't know what they've got. As for price we phoned up recently and got loyalty discounts some of which are permanent not just a few months.

OK as I've probably just given it the kiss of death, I expect my WiFi will now pack up. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Tbf, their router has been upgraded and is better now. But yes, one should invest in a Draytek router or some sort, if you want problems to practically disappear. Trouble is, they're hugely expensive and not 100% error free themselves.

So handing over money to Rupert Murdoch presents no qualms at all to you then.

If you worried about everything you bought, you'd only be able to buy hand-whittled spoons from hermits living up mountains.

Yep I have a Draytek 2860 and have two ‘Hotel Class’ Ubiquiti WiFi access points. Full strength, secure WiFi all over the house and at the bottom of the garden. I am though a geek with obviously too much time on my hands [emoji16].

Not really. You could have the same feelings towards alot of other companys. Lifes too short to worry about things like that (imo):emoticon-0148-yes:

They is a degree to which one goes. For example, I wouldn't let Murdoch own a business in the UK. That's how sickened I am by him. He's a morally bankrupt individual. One of the things I do when I go to buy something is see if the company is reasonably ethical. It doesn't have to be perfect, just reasonable. Murdoch doesn't make the grade.

My brother in law recently switched from Sky to Virgin and all went well, until it came to switching/connecting the phone.
With all the paperwork signed and in place, they were told that they would have to wait a bit longer, to be connected to the phone, as "there were no free lines in their area".
When would it be resolved? "When another customer leaves".
Not good, especially when running a business from home.

Not meaning to sound disrespectful but I can't understand that attitude. Why care about recycling, the environment, paying more so quality of life for employees are improved and resources are ethically sourced. While I can understand some cynicism, surely morally we must strive for better than cheaper is better and sod Everyone else, the environment and future generations.

Agreed. I wouldn't give Murdoch's evil empire a penny - although indirectly I probably do, as he has his tentacles in everything.

We have embraced the American service culture, in which the customer is king, & cheaper is always better. Unfortunately, the flipside is that someone still has to pay for our cheap goods - usually in low wages and poor working conditions.

A backlash may be coming though. And making moral consumer choices is effective. The boycott of South African products during the apartheid years is testament to that. Furthermore, a few % off the bottom line cann soon make bad emoloyers take notice - just ask Mike Ashley.
