Not sure about your last comment Stevo. I think there is something of a seed change starting with protests against increasing ticket prices here and in Germany (possibly elsewhere) and clubs now backing off, e.g. Liverpool and others. If the TV companies get too greedy then demand for their services will drop and after the new deals who knows where it all might be. In addition economic problems in what have been fast growth countries like China and India (who have gone crazy over the game) will see a drop off in income from those areas. It could be that people are starting to fall out of love with football. I know I am but that has something to do with the dross we are seeing at CCS every other week.
Yet PL viewing numbers are up year on year. Worldwide viewing figures are through the roof. I have no doubt the landscape will change, but the ability to extract huge sums of money out of the worldwide audience will not imo. Obviously it is just that though (my opinion), no way to prove anything as past performance is no guarantee of future success.
It's good to dream, but your punching well above your weight now girls, you'll never be a Premier League team, you just don't have the DNA.....
Swans next 2 games - Tottenham and Arsenal away. Could be up to their necks in the soft and smellies by the 2nd March. Their following 3 games will make or break their season - Norwich at home, Bournemouth away and Villa at home. Going to be an interesting few weeks.
Who knows Phill. You probably need a minimum of 6 or 7 points from the next 5 games to keep your heads above water and the next 2 will be very difficult. Your best hope is that both are knackered from their European and FA Cup exertions. With their squad sizes that is a big ask.
Thank goodness there are 3 worst teams than us, Villa are down, Norwich look like they are too, but Sunderland look like they will beat the drop once again, while Newcastle defence has to be on par with Villa, utterly awful, we need 13 points, which hopefully we will get, I see us getting 1 point from the next two games, then 6 points from Villa and Norwich, with maybe 1 or 3 points from Bournemouth, that will leave us to get 3 points from the last 8 games? It could be close, then again the old derbies could be back on...........
I think there are 3 sides just about worse than you guys right now but it's almost certain to be your closest call yet.
VT is a pretty good owner as far as I am concerned. He was just a bit too excited at the start of his reign, but overall he does what he feels is best for both the club and him. Dai doesn't realise that the two are mutually exclusive. The bigger and better Cardiff is, the better it is for VT. Simple stuff really. The longer VT stays here the better we will get, both as a football club and as a business.
