Nasri's a total bellend. He seems to be universally despised.
Ribery hates him, as did most of the old guard in the French squad.

Was I the only one that thought that France did something to disrupt the Spanish passing game, but couldn't work out what?
I'm not sure if it was their decision to leave their forwards high up the pitch and close down the deeper midfielders.
The amount of unforced errors by the eventual winners was incredible, considering their normal fluency.

Yes, typical. But that's the French all over. Football, Rugby, whatever. If it's all going their way they can be unstoppable. When it's not....well that's a very typical reaction. Don't suppose they'll ever change.

Does anyone know what Villas-Boas was actually asked when he made the "lies" reply?
The article in O Jogo says this, when translated:
"There is nothing, it's all a lie", was so André Villas-Boas responded to the curiosity of the Portuguese press on the possible return of trainer for Tottenham.
What was the question, though? He may have just been dismissing reports that he'd signed a contract.

The bookies still have him down as a massive, odds-on favourite.

  4. Only because enough people were stupid enough to put money on him. It doesn't make them right. The bookies only make money when the favourite loses.

That's true HIAG, but surely if the quote was accurate they'd extend the odds to get people backing him, as they'd be making easy money.
If he's said that he's not taking the job, then any bets on him are a total waste of time.

The bookies had England as odd-on favourite to win the last three World Cups...

They successfully pressurised the Spanish intermittently, which did disrupt their normal fluency. However, like most teams, they couldn't keep it up, and we're left chasing shadows by the end.

Well I think it's fair to say my tip off wasn't exactly on the ball judging by AVB's recent comments.

Gutted, I've always wanted to be ITK <laugh>.

Jokes aside, I think the club needs to act fast, a manager needs to be here to get targets drawn out and be able to bring in new arrivals ASAP in order for them to have time blending into the squad. I'm hoping any new signings will be here well before the Valencia game as that's gonna be a good test before the season starts.

How has Levy hijacked Gylfi while he's been in america?

Anyway, he's back now according to the telegraph article so i'm expecting news in the next 4-5 days.

It does make you wonder if the manager is sorted, just not official. We're being heavily linked with sahin and sig now, surely there must be someone lined up who levy is saying "who would you like?" to.

It would seem a bit bizarre to go and spend 8mill on a player, if there wasn't someone lined up to take charge.

I'm not aware Levy went back to America, he's been here since harry got hoofed as far as I know, more than enough time to get involved with this if he has. <ok>

Haha thanks for the vote of confidence Roo. How credible are the Telegraph though?

My mate who passed the info onto me, said the guy he got the info from has been spot on over the past year or so with other info, not just Spurs related. Around the same time he told me about AVB, he mentioned about the Diame to West Ham transfer (not that I care) which BBC only reported about 5 days ago.

Modders + VDV and Sahin (from what i can tell) + Sig would both fit into the AVB system.
I think the manager must be sorted, just can't be confirmed, hence the transfer "activity".

I'm a bit concerned we might be losing VDV though.

I know SOS... I was trying to be nice, but to be honest... they aren't that credible.

You never know mate, you could still be ITK. Just have to wait and see! If you turn out to be right though, you need to brag about it non stop!!! <laugh>

One of the guys on SCITK said that AVB won't be confirmed until July 1st due to some contractual reasons, whether that's true or not though I don't know.

I too am worried about Rafa speculation, he mentioned not long after joined us about how much he loved Hamburg, so seeing as they're possibly interested now along with Schalke, could be in for another transfer embargo summer with both him and Luka.
