    Football can be funny though and a defeat tonight would mean the Mackems ARE part of the relegation battle, no matter how confident their fans are now.

    Sunderland's goal difference alone is worth another point. They will beat Stoke, probably a point against Southampton as we will be lucky to get a point maybe against QPR. We need a Villa loss/draw here. Sunderland will not be going down. I know it would be nice to think so but they are not. We had a chance to really stick them in the mire but we ****ed it up.

    If we have to rely on other teams doing us favours so we don't get relegated then we deserve to go down frankly. Our fate is in our hands, we have three tough games but all of them are ones which this time last season we would have been confident of getting points from and our squad is stronger now. Our players need to stop feeling sorry for themselves, Pardew needs to earn his crust and pick a team and tactics which will get at least 2 points and preferably 3+ from a West Ham team with nothing to play for, a QPR team who are already relegated and have been dire this season and an Arsenal team who will have hopefully wrapped up ECL qualification already and have the cigars out for our last home game of the season.

    Villa, Sunderland, Wigan, etc. Let them worry about their results whilst we focus on what we have to deal with, if I was in Wigans positioni then I would be bricking it. Everyone keeps talking about this being the time of the season they kick on, 1 point in three games and now potentially 5 points adrift with 4 to play. I'd be bloody livid my team kept leaving it late, when it is relying on other teams if i was a fan of theirs.

    ps. Sunderland win tonight. Not for us but for them, I actually really don't want them to go down (not that i think they would anyway) and would love it if Villa did.
