Brentford and Everton both lost again too - they could well be starting to panic. As could Palace if we beat them on Wednesday - they may be 8 points ahead of us, but a loss to us + a win for us in our game in hand will certainly have them looking over their shoulders.
Yes as has been said... just a couple of wins and it is all change... I must say I had completely given up... I am really pleased for Roy too.... who is a decent man. Some great performances...... The defence was great.... although some poor clearances ... Midfield held the ball a bit and some great moves forward. A couple of superb passes from Sarr Real confidence booster for Dennis
Watford's last six Premier League away wins were under six different managers: Javi Gracia, Quique Sanchez Flores, Nigel Pearson, Xisco Munoz, Claudio Ranieri and Roy Hodgson.
Well deserved win at last, with a bit of luck that could have been very comfortable and a boost for our goal difference
Can we suck in any of Palace, Brentford, Leeds & Everton? When we play them, a win would put us within touching distance of them. i.e. win v Brentford would currently put us within 3 points, win v Everton would currently put us within a point of them. It's amazing how one win can change the whole picture isn't it?
Today from rural France it looked like we have solved some problems, if we can keep it going. The defence looks organised and we now have a genuine left back. Special word for Craig Cathcart who really showed a calm when Villa applied the pressure. Midfield looked mobile and despite a few moans recently Tom Cleverly carried out his role so well. What a difference Ismaila Sarr makes. None of the charging down the wing today, but draws two defenders out to him, then puts in crosses that create one goal, and should have been more. Emmanuel Dennis seems to anticipate what Sarr will do, and despite not being so visible Jos King worked his socks off. Despite it being a win that is of great interest to us, all of the comment seems to be just where Steven Gerrard is taking Villa. Although I don't see them being drawn into a relegation battle, we are now closer to several other sides that could be sweating before the season is over.
It's a simple consequence of being at the bottom. Points are much harder to come by, so a win is more precious. Conversely, at the top. a defeat is more painful. ( I wish !)
Four points from four games, what we expected from Roys first four games but not where we expected them from Comment of the day on the Youtube highlights Big teams often struggle against little teams........but Watford got there in the end
Still think we are goosed. Will we wappy when woy woves we wrong and we way wup. Weckon wat is way off wind.
