To be honest when I first heard it, it sounded like " he said what was European about the game... " however given the way the answer expanded I presumed I'd misheard. and thought he must have said opinion.. Chesh posted about Europe and I replied saying I thought he said opinion, but didn't think about it after that. Then saw your post and thought I'm either losing my hearing and mental processing or else we are talking about two different quotes, so thought I best do some research and publish my findings : D
I'm not so sure about either, if Alioski had scored that header his confidence would have shot up, he still though got in a great position against man city. I'd keep him for his legs closing out games and he can cover multiple positions
Last season was obviously excellent but some games, looking at the bench , I'd think we're 3 injuries/suspensions away from trouble, we have now improved the squad and team far and above what most of us hoped for, I don't think Alioski costs much, wage wise, in the grand scheme of things, just because of the numerous positions he can play, he has to be worth keeping hold of imo.
Even having read the corrections above, I still heard it as ‘what is European about the game?’ The first time I listened. Obviously was ‘your opinion’ but it did not sound like it.
Got to admit I think the whole management team have done a terrific job over the last 2 and a bit seasons. Looking purely at this transfer window, I think Victor has done really well with Koch and Rodrigo, and Llorente appears a good bit of business, even though we’ve not yet seen any minutes from him. I didn’t necessarily see a need for another wide player when we brought in Raphinha, but who knows what Marcelo has planned for him “position”wise. Sorry getting a bit off topic, but the “Take us Home” series highlights the close bond Radz/Angus and Victor have formed, and I think we are fortunate to have them running the club. I think they were inspired in approaching Marcelo, and have earned my eternal gratitude for getting him to our club. The series demonstrates they and Marcelo “get” what it is to be Leeds. Long may it continue, for someone who witnessed the early Don years this is a bit special.
Would keep Alioski and Roberts myself, Roberts is only 21, don't forget lots of players don't hit there best till 26 ish, Douglas can go for me and if he's ever fit enough, so can Forshaw.Berardi, would give him a six month deal, so he can find another club.
I just watched the second series last night, I got the feeling Orta may have worked elsewhere but he's a Leeds fan now
