    Am I the only one who was - how shall I say - ‘pretty bemused’ by the BBC’s indulgence and congratulatory fawning of the England Football team? The audience, then Skinner, Baddiel & the Lighting Seeds all singing.....



    Bloody hell, they had a cakewalk to the final and blew it.... they finished 4th for gawd’s sake

    Just to remind the Beeb, they beat the footballing superpowers of Panama, Tunisia and Sweden.

    England Netball gets Team of the Year <yikes>

    Ireland Rugby won the Grand Slam and stuffed the All Blacks! The European Ryder Cup team humbled the Yanks......

    But they’re not English I presume......

    Portugal, Netherlands, Switzerland and .... England.

    Netherlands finished ahead of France and Germany.
    Switzerland pipped Belgium.
    England finished ahead of Spain and Croatia where everything hinged on the final game and England came from behind to beat Croatia 2-1 at Wembley. You don't remember?

    A sad day, as you say <peacedove>

    Not a band I've ever been into but appreciated never the less. Not too many of the oldies left rockin' these days. How I wish I'd grown up through the Sixties.
