Congratulations mate, I've heard stories of a few professional footballers coming through from Red Stars.

Can he use his left foot?? Is it too late to turn him into a left back??? I know a club that needs one! <laugh>

Dunno why I haven't added master-simpson to my ignore list until now. He offers nothing but 100% pure **** coming from every pore.

ANYWAY, enough about him.

cheers chappaz, some canny players amongst that lot, i'm in a dilemma now like as the northern league kick off at 3 o clock on a saturday, where as i was used to sunday morning games, think i'll have to watch seaham when safc play away

19 mate he's a good footballing centre half, has played right back a few times and generelly a very good footballer,he's just left college with 3 a levels and a degree in i.c.t.(computers)and has captained grange park for the last 3 seasons and won numerous awards, hope this works out for him as it would make a change for someone in southwick to have something good said about them

Congrats murray out, your lad has obviously got his head screwed on as well with his education. I've always said that getting kids involved in sport of some kind will always bear fruit in building their self confindence and getting them involved in a team situation. I wish him all the best for the future and maybe some day we'll see him gracing the red and white stripes.

cheers derry it means a lot to me all these posts of encouragement, i appreciate every single 1 of them, had some bad news this week with my neice being diagnose with cervical cancer(she's only in her mid 20s), and has knocked us all for 6, hopefully with lots of luck they've caught it in time, so this has been a big plus for my family(i know it's seaham red star and not man utd), anyway thanks lads hopefully safc can get off to a good start to the season and sign 1 or 2 more quality players. ktf

I hope she recovers, you're all in my thoughts.

my son has just signed for seaham red star, he's been playing for grange park f.c. for 8 years in the russell foster league, i'm buzzing but am i over reacting?

Congratulations mate - My little lad (6 - nearly 7) is playing in the Russell Foster league for Lumley FC at the moment and I have high hopes... Goalscoring midfielder - although there's a long way to go before he hits premier league level!!!!

good luck to him mate, russel foster league is great for developing young talent, hope he keeps at it and gives you the same pleasure as i've had over the years

Nuts to over reacting mate if you aren't gonna get excited who will?? That is no bad standard of play. You'll know the stories but more than a fair share of even top flight pros were non league into their 20's even so congrats, tell him to enjoy it, keep working and you never know what may happen in the future.
