Just seen the officials list on Pasoti for this one. Just struck me as funny. Ref called Hair, lino called Harley Hetherington and his mate called Sam Fudge. Fudge seems appropriate and I bet he does the Lyndhurst side.

So this should be a decent test given their start to the season compared to ours. I reckon we've turned a corner. Whether that means we are going in the right direction or not remains to be seen. We can do it......

He booked Mitchell for an innocuous nothing and then did nothing when Sorinola was scythed down 5 minutes later.

Apparently, the Lyndhurst lino gave the penalty - at least the ref indicated that to protesting Argyle players . How’s that for taking responsibility?

I’ve got a view possibly 30* off that of the lino and saw nothing. To me, he just crumpled when the ball had gone past the far-post and was running out for a goal kick and the officials bought it.

Maybe Sensible had a better view: he’s maybe 90* off me.

MotM match for me by a county mile was Caleb Watts. A cannonball goal and a high energy performance throughout. What a player he is.
 
It seems that Cleverley moved away from his four at the back to a 3-4-3 system....and the result was so much better....and with other players about to become available....things might be looking up......18th in the league.....(of course some teams have a game in hand at present).
 
Cleverley says we could have made it 6 given the positions we got into in the second half.

Sounds ridiculous but actually …. He has a point.

Don't you just love it when the Officials live up to their names. I don't care that foul language isn't allowed on here. The Ref and Lyndhurst lino were feckin crap. That by the way is being polite. The foul on Sorinola was a yellow all day long. That was their No.10. He got a yellow in the second half so it should have been a Red. He got away with it. The Ref gave Tolaj nothing all game. Ok a lot of the time he backed in but not every time. Now we come to the penalty. Remember the Ref was already a "**** Referee" well before this point. I had a perfect view and this is not a biased one of what happened. You need to see it on screen where you can stop and start the proceedings. Their player had hold of the player marking him by the arm. As the ball came in they both backed away as it was going high. Their player let go of the arm and threw himself backwards. There was absolutely no contact from ours. The Lino DID NOT flag. The Ref either drew the Con or decided he would continue his biased decisions and let them have a goal. VAR would have laughed at this one.

As far as the game went we were well worth our win today. Some of the football was very poor from both sides but we were still better. I'm not sure if it's just me thinking this but I'm convinced that the standard of football in league one has gone down since we left it. Possession and stats mean absolutely nothing if you don't score so I don't think it has any baring on the proceedings. Was pleased for Tolaj getting his first Argyle league goal. He is tireless in his work rate. Not totally sure who I would give MOM to today as there were several candidates.
 
Just watched the video....how on earth did our first goal stand.....own goal Wootton was having his arm yanked off and that caused his header to go in the net.

One of many mistakes this referee and his side kicks managed.
 
EVERY single corner at either end had a shed load of pulling/pushing and falling down. This Ref should have given 15 penalties for the corners alone without the number of set piece free kicks there were. So, pulling/slight tug on arm causes head to turn like in the Exorcist, his legs to collapse and inadvertantly collide with the ball resulting in an own goal. You should try watching the whole match rather than select one small bit to declare the luck of the Irish for Argyle.
 
There was a corner at the Demport End in the first half - obviously the keeper was between the sticks and there was a defender at the near post.

There was then a Stockport player standing so close to Ashby-Hammond that if it happened to you on a Tube train you'd get off at the next stop and catch the next one. Then there was an Argyle player whose job it was to obstruct the Stockport player so he couldn't obstruct Ashby-Hammond.

The other 17 outfield players were in a huddle at the edge of the penalty box so small you could have thrown a single bed sheet over it. This huddle was heaving like bees climbing all over each other in the hive to get closer to the queen.

I think the refs should be able to call the two captains aside and tell them if they don't stop it, he's going to pull one player from each side out at random and book them. That process will continue until they're all sent off. That'll learn 'em.
