That is hard to take....must be terrible being there hearing how Southend and Wimbledon were doing.....Thanks Mr Adams for nothing in the end...left us back were we started. Not going to get the best manager now in Div 2.
We're down because Adams wasn't sacked 2 months ago....those 2 late goals at Blackpool and home to Bristol R have come back and bit us in the bum.
So frustrating this season....so many points frittered away....why did Adams bring in so many poor defenders....shipping 80 goals in a season....no one would have put money on that at the beginning of the season.....although the Yeovil friendly gave us a clue....but Adams didn't really respond to that problem.....so many players we need to off-load....not many I'd keep....some of the better ones might move on any way....so important to get the right manager in.
Well different manager but the same old Argyle. Good stuff going forward but far too porous in centre midfield. Lameiras MoM on the ball but awful when they have it. OK it didn't matter but Scunthorpe's second was the most despicable piece of unsportsmanlike s**thousery I've seen in a lifetime of watching football live and on TV. Macey, who had played pretty well, is clearly injured and tries to throw the ball out for a throw in to stop the game. *****horpe (the S can now be dispensed with) catch the ball before it goes out and score past the disabled keeper. It looks like it was a serious injury: Macey had to be helped off at the end with an ice-pack on his foot. Thank Christ they've gone down too but a proper punishment would involve a firing squad. Whole squad were clapped off at the end but a lot of changes needed in the closed season. At least the ordeal is over. We've paid the price for those 2-0 leads squandered. My sympathy to you all - you did all you had to do today, but were undone by other results. Couldn't believe Southend beat Sunderland, there seems to be no justice some seasons. Best of luck next season and genuinely sorry about how things have worked out for you this season.
I Just got home and yes I've had one or two. But, the match was marred by the second goal for Scunthorpe. Notdistant has already mentioned it above. It was more than despicable it was nothing short of a crime. The crime being not necessarily the scoring of the goal but the reaction after it. Their player celebrated it and a couple of their players even congratulated him for scoring. Their fans celebrated the goal and sang it's praises. Worse still their management also celebrated it and basically told their players to ignore the embarrassment and carry on. The most disgusting set of incidents I have ever witnessed. Foolishly I thought at one point they were going to let us walk one in but no. They have no class whatsoever and should hang their heads in total shame. It made no difference to the overall situation as it turned out but that is hardly the point. I also thought the Ref could have sortee it by giving a penalty not long after but he chose not to so clearly he thinks that sort of behaviour is ok as well. It was actually a half decent game apart from all the fury at that goal. Argyle played very well and could have won by a much bigger margin. That of course would have meant them overcoming the hoodoo that has plagued them all season. To hit the post twice in a matter of minutes emphasises the point. The players went for it and we couldn't ask for any more than that. They did what they had to by winning the game and the rest of it was down to others. MOM by a country mile today was Lameiras once again. He ran his heart out. But they all did well.
