This new format is really confusing me and that isn't difficult at the best of times. Anyway, can we actually win a home game for once and make it a league double win on the trot? You decide......

well the new layout looks good but just getting my head around to see the posts but ok now ..

well im sure its a home win sensible and the start of a nice run .. a few wins will move us up slowly .. playoffs still possible.. :afro:

There is at least one good thing about the new website: the text editor is better.

What I don't much like so far is the "Posts Like Yours" feature. It may be interesting if you are, say, commenting on the World Cup to see what fans of other clubs are saying on the same subject. Every time I post on the "Forecasting" thread though I get a gert long list of other clubs' forecasting threads. I'm not really interested in that.

Massive three points today.....and another clean sheet.....stats against us...but goals come first before stats.

Alex Mitchell has been applauded for his play and leadership online....it will be a bonus if we can keep him from being recalled by Charlton...who have been struggling lately...but a good point at Birmingham today stopped their losing run.......but we need his defensive leadership to help us stay up.

Not a classic nor something suitable for any of a nervous disposition, but three vital points at home in front of a supportive Home Park crowd.

Rotherham had most of the possession but struggled to make good chances against an effective Argyle back 4. Or back 11 at times.

From my angle a very well worked Argyle goal cutting through Rotherham for one penalty box to the other in 2 or 3 passes for a calm Owen Dale finish

Even if it hadn’t been him who scored, he’d still have been my MotM. He is soooo good on the ball.

Hopefully this is the jinx broken. It was certainly a determined team performance to cheer.

Joe Ralls was the goal scorer.

And Alex Mitchell was MoTM on pasoti with 72.7% of the votes.

Attendance down to 14,318....maybe Christmas shopping won today....?

Ah it was at the other end again - I misread Dale as the scorer when it was his assist.

No Plym: stop trying to find negatives. There were only 300 Rotherham fans - down from I think 800 away fans last time out, hence the 500 reduction.

So 500 Rotherham fans went Christmas shopping.....:emoticon-0136-giggl.

Shock horror I'm going to agree with plymborn as it's Christmas and as a one off. The crowd was down and there is no point denying that. Take the Rotherham fans out of it and there were less than 14,000 from Argyle. That is the smallest there has been in a fair few seasons. Christmas shopping is one reason maybe and 3 games at home in quick succession could be another given there are two more before the NewsYear. But it was smaller than the norm.

The game was dreadful. The result was the main thing which sort of offsets the play. Whatever was said to the players at halftime I obviously have no idea but there was a total change in the second half. They just sat back and invited Rotherham to have a go. How we got away with it again I have no idea. If Rotherham had been any good in front of goal we would have been stuffed again. Truth is they were as bad as we are. It really is a hard watch these days. Watching this I have to ask what the players do all week because I can't see it being practice. Several players were worse than poor but mainly you have to say they do try even if badly. As it turns out great 3 points ironically.

I forgot to mention the Referee. I thought he started quite well but as per norm that didn't last. Some of his decisions were odd to say the least. Thought he gave fouls where no foul existed and several times gave throw ins the wrong way to the obvious. He was inconsistent quite a few times where he blew for something he had let go previously and didn't blow when he had before. Some bookings well worth it and others weird. There was a period in the second half that I thought he had banked a brown envelope from Rotherham because he gave them everything going whether it was theirs of not. Linos were......... well just linos and as bad as normal and gave little assistance to anyone.

But we’ve won three out of our last 5, which only Peterborough and Barnsley have equalled until you get to Bolton, who’ve won 4 out of 5. Bolton are in 4th place. We haven’t conceded a goal in 270 minutes of football.

He’s tried various formations with what he’s got in the squad and none of them worked.
Now we’ve got Edwards fit, he’s gone to an old fashioned 4:4:2 It’s made us much more difficult to break down whereas before, it was like double doors, open wide. Don’t forget that even now he’s lacking a specialist left back: we’re making do with one of our many centre backs.

It’s not pretty it’s true, but it’s better than losing with a 3:4:2:1, which is one of the many more progressive formations Cleverley tried originally and got lambasted for.

We played good stuff in flashes but it’s obvious we need to bring in more firepower up front in the transfer window. We’re winning 1-0 ugly now but if we start winning 3-0 ugly I suspect nobody will complain about the quality of the football.

Yeah, it’s far from perfect but the crowd stayed with it.

I agree about the ref: one one occasion, he gave a throw to them when the lino had his flag up the other way and he ignored what looked like quite nasty fouls over in the Grandstand/Devonport corner late on.

The authorities are considering introducing a rule whereby if a goalkeeper goes down injured, another player will have to be nominated to go off to serve the “recovery” period that applies to outfield players but not to keepers.

This follows a particularly bad incident when the Man City keeper went down for an age in added time while the outfield players gathered around the manager for a tactical briefing on how to hang onto to a one goal lead. The keeper then made a miracle recovery.

Remind you of anything yesterday?

Why is it always the goalkeeper of the winning team that goes down with CRAMP in the last few minutes of a game.

Players should not be allowed to go over to their dugout for "refreshments" and a pep talk from their manager at such a time.

PS.....Surely there is more chance that Ethel the tea trolly lady could suffer with cramp.... pushing her trolly around with a dodgy wheel.... than a keeper who rarely ever runs far for anything.
