I watched it on Argyle TV....some problems as I've already mentioned....but not enough to spoil the viewing.....and certainly didn't miss any of the goals.....I would have been happier to have missed those two muppets before and at half-time spouting off.....they seemed so amateurish.
Finally watched the 90 minutes against Port Vale. Port Vale started well and scored from another bout of ball watching by Bali Mumba. But this Argyle side have become impervious to slings and arrows, outrageous or otherwise, took charge and scored three good goals. Thereafter they just closed ranks and wave after wave of Port Vale attacks broke on a wall of defenders on the edge of the box. Not as extravagant as some of our displays but effective, resolute and controlled. Champions by right.
You do not have to make that last sentence statement notdistant. We were top after 46 games which was all the right anyone should need to know. Nobody on here is going to question our finishing position. I watched the Argyle match moments and have to say we took our goals very well indeed. The team didn't seem to look that bothered when PV scored early. I think they knew it was written in the stars. I have to say that at one point in the season finishing top wasn't my priority. Just getting auto promotion would have done nicely. However, as the games ticked off I got a wee bit fed up reading pundits tales about other clubs and saying nothing about us much. I also got fed up reading other team's supporters moaning about how llucky we had been, again, and how good they were. Statements like "we are the best squad in the league". I really ended up wanting the title and when we got it I felt doubly chuffed. The best team finishes first not second. You cannot possibly be lucky over 46 matches and especially winning 31 of them.
