Thanks. It was important for confidence to get a win at the first time of trying. We have harder games to come: Southampton in a fortnight. In the second half, a balloon came down the touchline in the Barn Park to Devonport direction. When it got to the corner flag, it went around in circles for a bit and then, now closer to the middle of the pitch, headed back off to the Barn Park End. Shows how it swirls around in there..... If you noticed, Randell was coming short to the keeper to receive kick-outs, which I assume was deliberate given the reduced number of CB's, but Huddersfield had a high press and they kept losing it between them. Edwards was going berserk gesturing Hazard to play it wide, but certainly Kesley-Hayden wasn't showing for him and I don't think Edwards was doing particularly well at that either. These things don't happen by accident in the professional game and maybe the high press hadn't been expected. They need to think again how we're going to play-out with a back 4.
In the second half, we had a set piece at the Devonport End, corner or free-kick. It was cleared and Huddersfield made a quick break. Now you know that feeling as you walk away from your sock drawer or garden shed or kitchen cupboard and you suddenly think "Hang on, what was that doing there?" and you have to take a second look. The ball is down by the corner flag, Joe Edwards there trying to hold Huddersfield up having been the man left in the centre circle assisted by..... Ryan Hardie. "Hang on, what was that doing there?" I thought. He'd obviously put those greyhound legs into over-drive to get back and cover. Is motivation high or what?
