Gillesphey on for Galloway....and Cosgrove on for Whittaker....75 minutes.

    2-2...Cosgrove...77 minutes....now that's some entrance.

    Cosgrove: minutes played - 2, touches - 2, goals - 1.

    Let’s keep that ratio going.

I am recording the Football League programme so will not see the goals till the morning probably. I reserved judgement having not been impressed particularly with the signing of Cosgrove. Well what the feck do I know. Not just me but a number of people who have commented on Boards. I don't think although I don't know yet that him being the size of a target man had anything to do with the goals scored. Maybe we should have been looking at him differently rather than that. I did not expect that score in the end. That has to be one of the most impressive debutes of all time at Argyle. The list of games we have for most of September are those which you may have been covering your eyes and praying. Well we started the run with 3 points which is more than I expected if honest already. The away fans must be buzzing on the way home and all power to them for going.

Usual condescension from some Derby fans: good away turnout came to see us of course etc etc.

What there isn’t is any dispute that we were the better team and deserved to win.

I just watched the 15 minute highlights on Argyle TV. We looked well worth the win.

Whittaker looked very lively from the start and Hardie should have had a penalty after about 30 minutes for a clear push in the back. He was rather isolated towards the RH corner flag and I don't think any Argyle players saw it to support his claim, but the arm went out with enough force to convince me the fall wasn't deliberate even though it looked convenient. One of those you'd probably have got if there wasn't enough diving in the game to make refs wary. This wasn't a dive in my opinion.

The two goals we gave away weren't too clever. The first a mistake by Galloway, the second was a good bit of skill from Mendez-Lang but it shouldn't really have been enough to bamboozle two defenders in such close proximity. As a positive, we usually defend batter than that and justice was done in the end!

Have seen the goals now and have to pretty much agree with the above notdistant. Not physical enough or robust however you want to say it in challenging their forwards. Thought the Dutch lad was a bit weak again. However, their fullback was a bit on the crap side letting Cosgrove in for the winner. Both goals were opportunist and I was right in that it had nothing to do with holding anything up or being 6ft 4ins. He was right place right time which was to his credit given his short time both on the pitch and with us. I am getting more and more impressed with Schumaker as the games go on. Unlike his predecessor he does have a plan B and isn't afraid to change things. Won't always come off but that isn't the point really. At least he is willing to try. They clearly do their homework and clearly spell it out to the players. It's still a bleddy hard September to come though. The way it's going we will have played the entire top half of the table by the end of September. When you see the results so far you can only come to the conclusion that the Charlton result was the the fault of the Ref rather than team and was a bit of a nightmare one off event.
