In some games, we'll have had it won easily and he's taken off to protect him. In others, he may have had 60 or 70 minutes but the manager has decided that we need more pace up front against tiring defensive legs. Jephcott is a fox in the box but he isn't the quickest. Dom Telford for example goes like a whippet when you see him live, as does Ryan Hardie. But they are strikers, they need to take their chances and they haven't been. Football is a team game, it's not about one player.
Our other three recognized strikers.....Noble, Telfod & Hardie,,,,have played between them...2201 minutes....or 36.68 hrs for the total of 4 goals this season......or 9.17 hrs per goal.
Think Hardie has been really unlucky with some of his attempts. It was harder for it not to go in than score and yet it hit something on the way and stayed out. I think he only needs one or two to go in and he will be off and running again. But, we need it now and not later. Frank Nouble is a partner striker not a scorer even if he calls himself a striker. The rest I haven't a clue with. I have one horrible feeling that Jephcott will leave sooner rather than later for some reason. He is a natural goal scorer without any obvious attributes who puts them away. That can be priceless and I think he would do reasonably well in any of the leagues.
