Of those eight players....ONLY the keeper hadn't played first team football before....plus the odious Maddison (Just joined the Club)....Charlton fans commented that they played better once Maddison was subbed....some Charlton players had quite a few first team game behind them this season......you could mention a stream of Argyle players who weren't in our starting eleven.
I don't think we should be justifying our win. We won, end of. We scored they didn't and apart from the possession stats the others were in our favour so it wasn't a fluke.
Spot on Sensible. Most of the possession they had was in their own half anyway: for once we defended well and stifled them as soon as they passed the half way line. We probably should have been a goal or two up at half time. They may have made changes but we won the first half by a country mile and so that was reflected in our dominance. It might have been a closer run thing but who's to say we wouldn't have got a result by their "first 11". Let's not forget there was no Canavan or George Cooper.
