Not sure if I would rather this was a postponed match along with the majority this weekend of not. I am going to miss a match soon and maybe even 2 so perhaps I will need my fix before I do. We obviously can win this one but it's anyone's guess whether we do or not at the minute. Lets hope we don't chuck any points away this time or even get a Ref who throws them for us.

Maybe postponed with two players unavailable and injured players nearing fitness.

Cooper, Grant, Gillesphey, Scarr, Wilson, Garrick, Broom, Houghton, Camara, Hardie, Agard.

Subs
Burton, Edwards, Mayor, Randell, Law, Tomlinson, Shirley.

Edwards on bench....is he carrying an injury ?.....Agard gets his first start.

We have asked many many times what happens in the dressing room at half time. A great team walks in and is somehow transformed into a not so great team by the time it walks out again.

From kick off to half time we were unplayable. We ran Burton ragged and the amount of chances we managed to produce was brilliant. The style of play, the passing and movement, it was probably the best I've seen in one half of a game in a while. To be fair that's saying something because we have been pretty good before. Grants goal was a cracker and was so deserved by Argyle. This time we didn't seem to be satisfied with the one and still looked hungry for more. Cooper picked up the ball in his area and threw it about 50 yards to put Hardie through. I thought he had buggered it up but he coolly put it on a plate for Broom to slot home. It was really well taken and set up. We went in 2 - 0 up but it could have been 4 or 5.

Second half we just let them back into the game. We were a bit sloppy at times and the passing and play was nowhere near what it had been. We weren't terrible but just not great. You could see the Burton goal coming from almost the first pass in the move. Well finished effort and we didn't look so secure. We didn't exactly hang on and we still made chances but it was a bit dodgy at times. We deserved the win and the faithful were in full voice for most of the game and especially at the end.

If anyone watched the England game this evening then Keeper throw out in that game that led to a goal was identical to Cooper's. Think Gareth had watched the highlights before the International. Say it quietly but we are top of the league for a few days at least. Who would have thought that eh?

Maybe Ryan Lowe's "plan B" is to play crappy in the second half....it worked quite well....but we still won.

According to the radio commentators, the substitution Burton made at half time was to change their shape from 4:2:3:1 to something that matched ours,

They started with a single striker and went to two and reshaped their midfield with a man on Houghton: they then pressed high up the pitch and stopped us playing out from the back.

Now some among us have said we need a Plan B. If that means a radically different way of playing then I disagree. Perhaps though we do need A.0.0.2 as well as A.0.0.1. Being 2-0 up, perhaps we should have gone to a 3:4:1:1 - 2 x DM, 2 x WB in midfield, one in the hole (Broom perhaps) and one up front.

Still, top of the league and whilst we might not be perfect, you can't argue with the league table. We've played 1 more than everybody in the top 7 and 2 more than some of those so it's unlikely to last but we'd have all settled to this after a dozen games wouldn't we?

Now if Sunderland and Wigan plus others had played Saturday we might never have smelt the fresh air of being top-dog.

Of course others would say that points in the bag are better than points that might be.

Well they didn't and we have smelt it so feck them and good on Argyle for being there. Bollox to Sunderland, bollox to Wigan and bollox to all the other so called big clubs. It has been proved a thousand times before that a team is where it is for a reason and that's the results they get. I doubt you are one of the "others would say" as that is far too positive for you.

In answer to your "we would all have settled for this" last para Notdistant. The highest prediction for end of year was or is 7th. He is an employee so could be forgiven for some enthusiasm. Next is 10th from one who is not a green. It seems few of us were expecting great things and the predictions reflect that. All the more reason to be happy that we are where we are now I would think Does it ever matter how one gets there or what others are or aren't doing at the same time? I don't think so. It might not last but so what it just as well might do. All the team can do is keep getting the points in the bag and if they do then an average of 2 points a game is automatic form. I can see no harm in thinking we might do it whilst it lasts.
