Exciting isn't it................... Here we are again at the start of another season having just been promoted. First off the blocks is Blackpool. We can't play Hardie for this one which is a pity because I'd bet he'd love to be out there. Still, it is hard to predict what is likely without the benefit of much info. Never been one for relying on past history against clubs so lets just go for an Argyle win to kick it all off. COYG
Have to admit that I don't set an alarm very often these days but it's strange when I do because I always wake up just before it's due to go off. The thing has not sounded for years now. If I didn't set the alarm though I'd wake up late.
M Cooper, Watts, Aimson, Wootton, Nouble, Edwards, Mayor, Grant, MacLeod, Jephcott, G Cooper. Subs. Ruddy, Canavan, Telford, Moore, Lolos, Law, Camara.
1-0, Jephcott, cunning near post header as the ball is put back in after a corner was partly cleared.
Quite a few on pasoti complaining that ifollow isn't working properly.....some can't get it and some saying there seems to be two voices.
Blackpool had possession later on. On paper they had a lot of chances but only a couple of really threatening ones. Argyle so need to do better.
1-0...F/T. The stats suggest that if this had been a boxing match....Ryan Lowe would have thrown in the towel to save anymore punishment. Brilliant start to the season....seems our mid-field were overrun for awhile especially in the first half....but a clean sheet against one of the promotion contenders cannot be bad.
Well, a hard won 3 points against a decent looking Blackpool. A fine defensive performance, particularly from Mike Cooper and Will Aimson. We could have been 3-0 up after 10 minutes but thereafter Blackpool dominated a lot of the play. Argyle looked dangerous when we did get the ball forward, more dangerous than Blackpool really, but we just couldn't keep the ball in their half enough. Perhaps that's diwn to Blackpool or perhaps a bit of tactical fine tuning is needed. Hopefully, none of the substitutions were for serious injuries. A very competitive first game and 3 points well won even if Blackpool will think they deserved something. A good start.
Watched Sky's video....not much to go on really....other than Blackpool wasted chances...... and Michael Cooper was outstanding for when they were on target.
