If this guy gets a contract at Sunderland, it completely sums up why we struggle year after year.

He's slow, weak, clumsy and all round no where near premier league quality.

Why do we hang on to players like this, and let our better players go.

Has anybody ever mentioned your an irratating tw at <laugh><ok>

All the women I hate dated <laugh>. No seriously though if the same thing keeps happening recruitment wise then what is the limiting factor? You are a big club however what is Short willing to pay? Fat Ash only buys cheap foreign tat so that is all we get. You seem to do the same but when you do splash out, it is on rank average players. Something at boardroom level has to change.

I blame the fans. We all complain however we don't do anything about it. Look at Rangers, Cardiff, AC Milan. These fans have proactively tried to do something. We make crappy banners and do the odd chant BUT we always go to the games. The higher ups mistake our immense support and loyalty for that of people who accept mediocrity

Spot on QWOP....if our clubs played in near empty stadiums for a couple of weeks, the owners will get the message pretty quick.

Vergini is a funny one he seems to have one decent game where I think maybe there is something there but then he has an absolute stinker which makes me think how the **** did you become a professional footballer.

He always looks capable of giving the ball away from any situation and often looks like giving pens away although I'm not sure he actually has for us which is probably more down to luck.

He suffers playing alongside Oshea and vice versa. Alongside brown they both look more comfortable as they don't need to do a lot of thinking just look after there own game as brown is a better organiser than the pair of them.

There is something about him, but is he good enough for this league I am not sure, with a good CD alongside him, Shawcross or Wes type, he could blossom and surprise us all, but will that ever happen ?

Agree with a lot that's been said but I think budget will dictate and despite us needing to replace so many Defenders I can't see it happening. I think it's a choice between Vergini or Brown. get rid of both then we need 3 CBs and I can't see it happening.

The North East will always struggle to attract top players. Most of the fans on our boards won't even live here<laugh> it's a tip. It's cold, there's no jobs,

Don't agree entirely. London is a small commute in the grand scheme, Manchester even closer. This is the most attractive league in the world for some bizarre reason, all the money is here and all the talent wants to play here. It's not like in the old days, the draw now is massive and everyone wants a piece of the action. It's a matter of scouting and financial security which dictates the quality we can bring in these days. Unless you're going to a Chelsea or Man City ofcourse.
