that's the main reason you will keep growing musty....the stuff you buy in shops doesn't taste of fk all bar water(if that tastes lol)..........unless you shop at marks and sparks or above that in quality.

GMO IS THE NEXT BEAUTY THEY GOT FOR US <ok>.........fk knows what that's gonna do for peoples health(cancers maybe) but hey ho the rich don't have 2 eat the **** do they.

Musty, it seems obvious but always grow what you like to eat. Try to grow stuff that is expensive in the shops, grow stuff that is easy to freeze. I don't grow main crop potatoes for instance coz I can buy them cheap from a local farmer, but I grow a type of early potato called pink for apple coz I like the look and love the taste of it. Something else I grow a lot of is broad beans, they freeze well and I enjoy them. Sweet corn is fun to grow especially for kids and tastes delicious. Another tip is to grow salads in a y spare bit of ground or between rows of veg that take a longer time, you get two crops in the space of one. Get a soil test kit, find out what type of soil you've got and treat it accordingly for the best results. Its a great hobby, you keep fit and get the best tasting grub. Home grown rasberrys are the bollox!

we (father in law with my assistance) have built 3 beds, imported soil from the local nursery, fertilizer etc etc much to the chagrin of the wife. going to try corn, peas and onions next. our garlic chives are going like a demon, ginger plant (separate placement was a disaster). I never thought gendros I would ever do this but I find it fun and the biggest pleasures I think are to eat homegrown and also to give excess to family and friends. just planted a couple of different types of chilli (hot and mild). now I know how to impregnate female pumpkins, ahh the joys of vegies.

Nothing like growing stuff Musty, if people tried it they would realise. More and more people are doing it because the food tastes so good and its an instant chill out. There is a massive waiting list in Swansea for allotments, the council should give more land for them. Another tip is to have a good sharp hoe ready for the weeds, they grow in a flash. Don't talk about impregnating pu points on a public forum though, people just don't understand!
