A female friend of mine is a veggie, and really queesy about food, the thought of meat actually makes her feel sick.. though she has no problem wearing fur coats off endangered specie and alike..
Charlton Heston put his vest on. âIt's people. Soylent Green is made out of people. They're making our food out of people. Next thing they'll be breeding us like cattle for food. You've gotta tell them. You've gotta tell them!"
Ah, Charlton. If only they'd listened to ye, ya ****in right wing gun toting racist homophobic ****. God rest his soul.
Human bodies are designed to eat meat (we are omnivores) and vegetarians often look ill, and are 90% more likely to be gay and have Aids, and support a **** football team, like c££y or Chavski
1. It will save on your food bills No it wont. Quorn etc per kilo costs more than meat. As do most veg. You cant feed a family on a cauliflower but a cheap cut of meat in a stew can It takes a lot less energy to raise and harvest vegetable than it does to raise and harvest meat. Energy - feed, electricity, fertilizer - all has a cost. When the costs of the energy are totaled, vegetables use much less than meat does. If you're going to argue, get your facts in order 2. It will encourage you to be more thoughtful about what you eat Rubbish. Most meat eaters know that an animal has been killed to reach your table. Most vegetarians deny that animals and habitats are destroyed for veg production, not to mention pollution etc. As for fish eating 'vegetarians' how thoughtful are they? Bright children, evidently, are more likely to reject meat and opt to become vegetarians when they grow up, according to a study published in the BMJ (BMJ, doi:10.1136/bmj.39030.675069.55 published 15 December 2006). Researchers from the University of Southampton who conducted the study suggest that vegetarians are more thoughtful about what they eat. Maybe you're not that bright TFWNN. According to a study from the University of Chicago [PDF], an all-vegetarian (lacto-ovo -- dairy and eggs allowed) diet will reduce your carbon footprint by about a ton. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I could go on, but seeing as the majority of you arguments are tedious and facile, also agueing with you is about as futile as building a wall with talcum powder, so I won't </end tedium> Have a nice boring life won't you
As a vegetarian I can attest that it is, in fact, cheaper to be a vegetarian than a meat eater. I don't live on cauliflowers any more than most meat eaters don't rely on a diet solely based on eating nothing but chicken. I don't even know where to begin with this nonsense. Most know that an animal has been killed to reach your table? Amazing insight there. I've never met a vegetarian who denies that growing veggies destroys habitats or produces pollution. Where did you get this info that 'most vegetarians' believe this? Oh, that's right. You made it up. That's right Fanny, we vegetarians don't make or eat sauces. I'm not a meat eater and neither are millions of others. Also, I didn't know creatures grew vegetables and grain So you agree that being a vegetarian reduces your eco footprint. Well done Fanny. That's also true of meat products which contain animals that have often been raised in unsanitary conditions and spend their lives in pain and discomfort before being brutally dispatched. No matter how hard you try you'll never convince me a carrot spent its life suffering before becoming part of a veggie lasagne. You seem to know a lot about the ****ting habits of meat eaters and vegetarians. I find that disturbing. Absolute nonsense. What ancestors? Your great grandparents? And why do you think there are so many overweight people around now? How many obese vegetarians do you know? Again, I can only go by personal experience and say that a vegetarian diet gives me more energy. Most studies confirm this and also confirm that vegetarians are, in general, healthier than meat eaters. Again, disturbing. Please explain natural instinct? Is rape part of our natural instinct? Does that make it acceptable?
To put it more succinctly, PleaseNotThink, your reasoning that a large number domesticated stock will not exist if they were not reared for meat consumption is very weak and can easily be countered - perhaps you need someone to do the thinking for you
Perhaps you need to counter it then, rather than continually dodging the question? It suggests that you don't have an answer. If you're disagreeing with the way that domesticated stock are treated, then you should promote more ethical ways of rearing those animals. They simply wouldn't exist without the consumption of meat, so you're promoting killing them all and not breeding any more.
This is the most senseless argument ever. How is not eating meat promoting killing? These animals have been bred and genetically modified to be killed and consumed. Whatever your viewpoint on the matter, it's a fact that meat eaters are sustaining a system whereby animals are bred and butchered. That, funnily enough, has nothing to do with vegetarians.
