There is no right or wrong way you can make your kids become town loyalists or allow them to support who they want, lots of people support the teams their parents do, I'm just very fortunate that my Dad decided to invest his time and money taking me to games. Warky - Never knew that, there has been some quality Steelback players over the years. Lamb was a great cricketeer but I know a few people who have crossed paths with him and I must say his not the most popular of people.
After the Ashes test at Edgbaston in 1985 Lamby signed my cricket bat and it is my most prized posession to this day. Yes he has a certain arrogance but that comes with the territory when you are a truly great sportsman. I will never forget some of the sublime knocks he played especially the 3 magnificent tonnes he got against the mighty West Indies pace attack of the early 80s! He made Malcolm Marshall, Joel Garner and Andy Roberts look very ordinary a number of times.
